Summary: Ryan has lost a suspect due to his eye problems returning, and Calleigh is there to comfort him.
A/N: This is the audition I wrote in order to get the role of Calleigh in a RP at talk.csi. (Yeah I got the role). This story is from Calleigh's POV.
I hadn't seen any of the guys that day, Eric and Ryan had a case and Horatio was dealing with personal things. I'd been in ballistics all day, I got a bit behind on my work there and took today to make up for that. When I reached the locker room I saw Ryan sitting there on the bench. He looked at the floor, but I could see he had something on his mind. I walked in and opened my locker.
"Something you wanna share?" I asked. He knew what I meant.
"I lost him Cal, I lost him." He said.
I closed my locker and turned to him, crossing my arms.
"You lost who?" He looked up at me. "The suspect."
My mind immediately wandered to the day he froze in a shootout. He had had the same look on his face that day. He didn't have to say more, I already knew.
"Your eye."
"It just went blurry. Just for a few seconds, but it was enough to lose the suspect. He ran." He sighed.
I sat down next to him. "Ryan…"
"No, don't tell me it's okay, 'cause it's not. Eric is so pissed, I've never seen him like this."
"Did you tell him?"
"Not yet."
I nodded. "You may not want to hear it, but I think you should go see that doctor again."
"I was afraid you'd say that."
"You know I have to. You know I care for you, and therefore I have to tell you this."
"I know that." "Then why don't you just tell me you will?" I raised an eyebrow and smiled.
He shook his head and smiled too. "I will." He muttered.
"Good. Wanna go grab a drink?" I asked.
He looked at me again. "Now?"
"Yes. Someone has to make sure you don't drown your sorrows."
"Do I strike you as the type to drown my sorrows?"
"You strike me as the type to go grab a drink with me." I told him.
"Well then you have that right."
"Let's go." I stood up and offered him my hand. He took it and I pulled him up.
"Thanks Cal. I owe you. Again." He said.
"You know what?" I said to him. "I think we just got even."
