A year.
Juliet O'Hara was amazed at how much could change in just one short year. A year ago, she had been reunited with her college boyfriend, Scott Seaver, thanks to Shawn and Gus. Unfortunately, things hadn't worked out like she had hoped, and she had been forced to watch Scott board a train and leave her life for a second time in seven years. But when he had left the second time, there had been just as much hope as the first.
However, things were completely different this time as she waited at the train station to see him again. She was completely different.
Fifteen minutes later, Scott's train pulled into the station. Juliet stood off to the side, watching each passenger disembark until finally she saw his face. He held his arms out to her and she rushed into them with a gleeful laugh.
"Hi, Juliet!" he murmured, his strong arms holding her tightly against his chest.
"Scott…" She nuzzled into his chest briefly before pulling away. "You look great."
"So do you." His eyes wandered over her and eventually settled on her rounded belly. "Wow…"
Juliet blushed. "Five months along."
"That's…" He seemed to be at a loss for words. "Congratulations. Shawn?"
A familiar voice laughed. Carlton stepped up behind Juliet and kissed the side of her head.
Scott's eyes widened, but he didn't look too surprised. "I'm happy for you two."
Smiling warmly at the man who had once held the largest part of her heart, Juliet leaned into her husband's embrace. She remembered it so clearly. It was during their conversation when he had mentioned Grease that she realized she had been looking for the right man, and he had been right under her nose for the better part of four years. It had not taken long at all for her to convince him to go on a date with her, and the rest was history.
"Thank you, Scott." She reached out and took his hand, squeezing it. "Come on. We're taking you to dinner."
"Are you sure?"
The smile she gave him was dazzling.
"Anything for a friend."
The End.
