Humble Pie

"Come on Bones. Just eat a piece" Booth held out the fork in front of his partner's face, with a small piece of Banoffee pie on the centre of the fork.

"No Booth. I told you, I don't like pie" She tried pushing the fork away but Booth wouldn't have any of it.

"But why? Pie is like the best thing" Booth didn't remove his fork from near his partner's mouth. He was determined to get her to try a piece of pie before the evening was up.

"I just don't like pie Booth" Bones stated. She was beginning to get a little agitated. She had told Booth many times that she wasn't a fan of pie, but he kept making attempts to make her eat some.

"What is it with you and pie Bones? Is there some kind of anthropological reason for not liking pie?" Bones gave Booth a look as if to tell him don't even bring up her knowledge of Anthropology.

"I just don't like it"

"Have you ever even tried some? This place sells the best pie in DC. Just open up Bones" Booth gave one his charm smiles that usually worked on Bones but it wasn't this time. She was adamant not to have pie.

"Why are you so obsessed with me eating pie?"

"Because normal people like pie Bones"

"Not everyone likes pie Booth" Booth ate the piece of pie that was on the fork. He was going to try something else, he was determined that she was going to eat a piece of pie. Even if it killed him.

Booth placed the fork back onto the plate and stood up. "Where are you going?" his partner questioned. Booth made his way to his partner and sat down beside her. Bones looked at him confused.

"Booth?"

Booth leaned in a placed a soft kiss upon his partner's lips. Bones reacted to the kiss and returned it placing a hand upon his rough cheek. She had waited for this for a long time and how it was finally happening.

He pulled back from the kiss with a grin on his face. Bones looked at Booth and gratefully returned the smile. Booth leaned over the table and picked up a small piece of the pie and looked at Bones.

"Booth I…" she was stopped short when Booth placed the pie into her mouth and gently closed her mouth, keeping his hand there so she couldn't spit the food out. Bones had no choice but to chew and swallow the piece of food and that's exactly what she did. Booth waited until she had finished before removing his hand from her mouth.

"So?" Booth questioned

"That was pretty good" Bones smiled. She was talking about the pie…and the kiss.

"I told you" Booth grinned cockily. He had done it. He had gotten his partner to finally taste the best pie in town…and his lips.
