Nine Tears
Prologue
I always heard people say, "Life has its ups and downs", but I never believed it. I had a special life; I was a Sailor Scout. Sure, life had a few bumps, but I always found a way to move on.
Of course, I was younger then, and that was before things changed. See, as I grew, so did the rest of the team and since I'm now in my senior year of high school, everybody else has gone in different directions.
Ami has her face on all of the busses and taxicabs along with the number for her new medical facility. She graduated first in her class and went to the most prestigious college in history. She is now married to Greg and has one daughter, Emiko.
Rei and Lita are on the road, traveling all the time. Lita has given in to the life of a professional wrestler with Rei at her side as her personal trainer. Together, they tour new places and kick the pants off of the local champions, making more money than the lottery gives out. Lita married the former Game Machine Joe, and within months, her daughter Kita was born. Rei married Chad, her ex-surfboarder of an assistant and has one son, Tohru.
Mina has the life of glamour, her name in lights as she struts her stuff on the modeling runway. After high school, Mina met a man named Takami and it was love at first sight. They were married and not long after, Mina gave birth to twins; a boy named Takami (after his father,) and a girl named Mai.
Now, like me, all these children were born on the moon, so we're all the same age. Funky, yea, but we don't really mind that. I live with my mom now, who works as a housewife and is a wife to her husband, Darien.
Hello, my name is Rini Phillips. Come with me as I battle not only bad guys, but also emotional battles, and most importantly, the battle to claim my identity.
Chapter One"Rini, you aren't going out of this house looking like that! You look like a hussy!"
"Thanks for your input, Mom, next time I'll ask for it!" I exclaimed. I knew my outfit was kinda skimpy, but I think the fact that it looked almost identical to my Wicked Lady costume was what she was really angry about. I heard the doorbell ring and mom answered it.
"Oh, hello Mai, Takami. Nice of you to drop by."
"Hey Mrs. Phillips, is Rini ready to go?" asked Mai.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" I almost ran out the door. "I'll be back later!" I called to my parents as I hopped into Takami's car.
"I'll drive." Said Takami, getting in on the driver's side.
"That means buckle up." Joked Mai as we drove off to the park. We were meeting everyone else there, and I was the one who had to explain the fact that our parents were too old to fight now, and that we, being the next in line, would have to take over. Mai and Takami seemed up for it, they loved a little adventure now and then. They almost always agree with whatever I do or say, so I wasn't too worried about them. But to think that I would have to talk about this to kids who I barely saw during the day at school, and then almost never hung out with after school, it gave me a nervous sense of feeling as the car suddenly stopped and we stepped out onto the grass. As I walked toward the group, my legs became weaker.
Oh, God... I thought as I tried to maintain my composure. I took a deep breath, and let my mind focus and banish all nervousness out of my body. I opened my mouth, and began talking.
