Far From Fairy Tale
Furious splotches of black and white enraptured the senses and confused the young mind of a small, dark-haired, teenage girl. The unbidden whispers of the past ensnared her, drowning her in the depths of her own mind, trapping her in a seemingly endless nightmare—a never-ending tragedy. She thought she was lost to the world, but things are not always what they seem. After a lifetime of shameless ridicule, loveless adorations, and hiding behind masks, she did the unthinkable: Massie Block fell in love.
Upon reaching her sophomore year, her heart became docile. She never quite found out when it happened, but she soon found herself in a fantasy world in which only young girls ever dreamt of: a world with princesses and charming knights. Only, this was far from being a fairy tale. The girl had her many flaws—many of them in fact; her knight saw through them, however, and he couldn't have been any more perfect—dreamlike, even. He found the smile that had long since been lost from her imperfect face and he taught her heart how to love. He drew her from the depths of despair and showed her to see the world in more than black and white. Though her life was now seemingly perfect, her heart harbored a torturous secret—because, of course, nothing in life is perfect.
This is a one-shot. No, I will not extend this. I feel like I ended it right where it should have been. You can come up with your own theory of what her secret was; heck, you can even PM me and share your cute little theories, but no, I can't tell you. From now on, I will only write one-shots and drabbles for this fandom. I will, however, continue updating Heart of Glass and I'm on the fence about the rest.
