January was always the coldest month of the year. In New York, it was especially freezing. Cerie, having lived in the state her whole life, was used to the cold and it didn't really phase her. Unlike her, Kenneth had never fully adapted to the dreadfully chilly temperatures of New York, due to growing up in the warmth of Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Though, he found himself not being so miserable out in the snow whenever Cerie was around. Walking in the bitter cold with her hand in his was much better than wearing gloves. It was not a chore to have to stay outside longer than necessary anymore. Just being in her presence cause a strange warmth to spread through his whole body. Sometimes, the two found themselves standing or sitting together outside, bundled up and huddled close, keeping each other warm.
