Prologue-Between Life and Life
The sun rose over the bed of one Usagi Tsukino on a tranquil monday morning. Blissfully unaware of the impending alarm clock brigade, she slept soundly. One by one, the alarms started to ring combining into a cacophony of sounds until finally they were silenced by hands waving wildly in the air and by some default, landing on the snooze buttons. With a yawn, Usagi sat up and looked blearily at the time.
"6:45... huh" she thought to herself, 'well that's a nice number to wake up at.' She got out of bed and staggered towards her closet, still thinking about 6:45 and it's significance until she realized what it truly meant.
"Oh no, it's 6:45! I'm late for school, again! Rei's going to kill me and give my bones to Makoto for her next stew!"
She sped quickly to the bathroom, putting on makeup and clothes as fast as she could, praying for time to stop. She flew down the stairs, ran past her mother cooking and hopped out onto the street, only to be greeted by shock.
"Surprise!" yelled Rei, Minako, Ami and Makoto as they stood in front of her house as Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru smirked at her dumbfounded face from their car.
"Silly Usagi, did you forget it's summer vacation already?" Rei said as she strolled up to Usagi and tapped her on the nose. "We figured you would anyways so we all decided to come here to surprise you. Now grow some brains and thank everyone before they all leave"
Usagi's eyes welled up as she took in the sight of everyone's grinning faces, truly she had the best friends in the whole galaxy.
"Thank you everybody, I don't know what I'd do without you. Now let's go party!"
They all laughed and Makoto hoisted a large picnic basket into the air before Usagi could start begging for samples.
"We'll meet you all by the ocean bus stop, ok?" Minako told Haruka as Haruka started and revved the engine of her mustang.
"Haha, you sure? This baby can make several trips there and back before you guys even reach the next street!"
"But Haruka, I thought I was your baby" pouted Michiru as she laid her hand on Haruka's arm lovingly.
"No, Michiru, you're my wife, and you'll always be" said Haruka as she leaned in for a kiss.
"Hey, less kissing, more speeding!" Shouted Hotaru from the back as she kicked her papa's seat.
The Inners grinned and waved goodbye as Haruka obeyed Hotaru's orders and sped off into the morning traffic.
"Do you think Mamo-chan and I will ever be like that?"
"Dream on, Usagi."
"You're so mean Rei"
10:14 am, Okayama Astrophysical Observatory
"Professor Hiro, there seems to be something obscuring the lens of the space telescope"
"It's probably just some trapped fog, go turn the air condition unit on, that'll clear it up" Professor Hiro sighed and turned back to his television set as his student left the observation room. With the latest news of Russia being hit with meteorites, the least of his worries is humidity. The chances of recovering meteorites that weren't disintegrated upon landing were few and far between.
