Happy AkuRoku day 2009! WOOHOO! PARTY YEAH!
Anyway here's my present, and yeah I know that this has been done just about a million times but oh well, I wanted to make something sad this year.
Axel threw one of his chakrams skillfully and it cleaned sliced a dusk in half, killing it easily. Axel summoned the weapon back to his hand and immediately threw it again, only this time it was followed by its partner. Together the two chakrams eliminated five dusks. Axel mercilessly took down dusk after dusk but more kept appearing, their numbers seemed endless.
Axel looked to his fighting companion who looked so much like his Roxas. He vaguely wondered who it was, exactly, who had decided that Nobodies couldn't feel. If so then why did Axel feel something whenever he was with Roxas. Why did Axel's stomach flip when Roxas smiled. Why was Axel so devastated when Roxas-
No, Axel wouldn't think about that. All he had to do was imagine that his companion had blonde hair and then he would be fighting alongside Roxas. Just like in the old days. Axel smiled.
But Axel could tell that they were losing, he saw the distress on Roxas' face as the dusks closed in on them.
"I think I liked it better when they were on my side." Axel said as he and Roxas were forced to stand back to back.
"Feeling a little⦠Regret?" Roxas asked as he looked up at Axel with a smirk
Axel just smirked right back at him, "Nah, I can handle these punks." Axel knew what he had to do, he needed to save his Roxas. "Watch This!" He said, ever the showoff.
This was it, his chance to show Roxas just how much he cared, that he would do anything for him. So Axel put all of him self in the one attack that would save His Roxas.
He wasn't at all surprised when he ended up flat on his back and couldn't move without causing himself a lot of pain.
He watched silently as the brunette ran toward him.
Wait a second. Brunette? That's not Roxas. Where was Roxas? He needed to tell him something, something with eight letters. Somethine that could only mean one thing, that was three words long.
Axel took a ragged breath as he tried not to cry, he didn't save Roxas, Roxas was gone. He didn't even know that Nobodies could cry.
"You're... fading away." Sora, not Roxas, said as he knelt next to him.
"Well, that's what happens when you put your whole being into an attack. You know what I mean?" Axel tried not to look at him. "Not that Nobodies actually have beings... right?" Axel finally turned his head to look at the kid. "Anyway I digress. Go, find Kairi. Oh almost forgot, sorry for what I did to her."
"When we find her, you can tell her yourself." Ah the stupid kid, is he blind?
Axel turned away, "Think I'll pass. My heart just wouldn't be in it, you know? Haven't got one." Axel laughed bitterly.
"Axel, what were you trying to do?"
"I wanted to see Roxas. He... was the only one I liked..." Might as well tell him the truth, Axel thought. "He made me feel... like I had a heart. It's kind of... funny... you make me feel... the same." Axel shook his head as if to rid himself of such thoughts. "Kairi's in the castle dungeon. Now go." Axel used the last of what little strength he had to open a portal for the kid.
Axel remembered something as he faded away something he and Roxas had said to each other.
"I'll see you there, Rox." Axel whispered and Sora didn't hear.
I'm comming Roxy, then I'll be able to say those eight letters to you.
