Scorpius had heard of the Room of Requirement. His father had told him many fascinating stories about the extraordinary room. He never thought he would stand on that floor, though. He never thought the Room of Requirement would be the place he came when James and the others taunted him. He never thought that the Room of Requirement would be the place he would come to get away from everything. He never thought that the Room of Requirement would be one and only asylum at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Scorpius looked around at his refuge. It was identical to his room at home. Small and cozy. Quidditch posters hung on the walls. His bed fit snugly against the left wall, and the ominous black closet that was ten times the size of him stayed unopened at the opposite side of the room.
He jumped on his bed, pulled off his yellow Hufflepuff robes, and shoved his head into the pillow. When he got himself up, his eyes were bloodshot, tears were running down his face, and snot streamed from his nose.
His body was still sore. He threw off his shoes and pulled up his pants to his knees. The rat bites were swelling, but the bites weren't what were causing the pain. It was the laughter. The never ending laughter. Everybody… laughing… at him. An innocent boy who had just a rat shoved down his pants for no other reasons then to make them laugh.
The memory kept going on and on in Scorpius's mind. Lucky for Potter, too, Scorpius thought. Professor Longbottom had always been sweet on him. He got away with a warning. Again. That was the fifty-fourth warning the Professor had given him… just from this month.
He slammed his fist down on his bed, and he screamed as loud as he could. He shot out of his bed and ran around the room, tearing down posters, ruining his bed, and throwing everything he could find on the floor. He ran up to the dark closet and pulled open the doors in a fit full of rage.
His whole body stopped when he opened the doors. He completely froze. He realized that what was in front of him would change his life... forever.
