Would Be Lovely

Words in your heart that you can't utter."

Before she even knows her name, Caitlyn knows that she hates this new girl with the big smile and the perfect brown hair. She hates how she can play the piano just as well as her, how she can dance almost as well as her, how her hair is never frizzy and curly like hers, and she hates how Nate loves this new girl.

She first hears of this new girl the evening after the Camp Star concert. He sits next to her on a log roasting marshmallows, so close that she can smell his Dior aftershave, and said: "I think I like her." And then her heart breaks into a million tiny pieces.

She is the first person to see how much he adores this new girl. She keeps hearing her name. Dana. A pretty name. That's why she prefers to call her the New Girl.

She lends him binoculars when he says he is going bird watching. She finds him ten minutes later by the lake, the binoculars tipped up at the new girl playing the piano. She watches him wave to her, and she runs away to cry.

At the same time, she seems to be the only to see how much this new girl means to him. She notices the way that he smiles when he's with her, how long he's been spending writing songs, how he looks up whenever sounds of canoes on the other side of the lake catch his attention. She notices that for once, he is happy and that he isn't the same brooding songwriter.

For the first time, she even notices him laugh.

The next day, he comes to her and asks what a girl would like more, flowers or chocolates?
She bites her lip. "flowers would be lovely."

A/N: Hello there!

Since I watched Camp Rock 2 (I admitted it, all right?) I was most inspired to pull this crappy thing together. Some stuff in the real world helped move this along. Exams are coming, and this is probably going to be my last work for a while. Review!
