Chapter 1 : beneath mirror lake

Swiftfeather sighed. He had been by Mirror Lake 3 times that day…there was just something that pulled him there. But whenever he wanted to go back home, he always

had the impulse to return to the lake. This was his 4th time walking around the vast banks. He looked out at the lake….he then sat down and dozed off.

Swiftfeather sputtered awake. Somebody threw water at him! He looked around in annoyance to see if his best friend Bullhorn was who splashed him….Bullhorn was no where in site.

He then heard quiet laughter….but it wasn't coming from the woods or trees, it was coming from the lake! He looked down closely. His face inches away from the water…when suddenly

Something-well-someone, came up and pecked him on the lips.

Swiftfeather fell backwards on his butt. Shock written all over his face… (What the hell?!) he stare at the ripples in the blue water. Then half a face poked out of the

Water…then the whole face….Swiftfeather's heart skipped a beat. She was beautiful. Long, black, straight hair, glossy in the sunlight, dark tan skin, and amazing azure eyes. She had 3 eagles

Feathers in her hair…..and-o god- she wasn't wearing a shirt. Swiftfeathers heart beat faster, as a slight blush formed on his tan face. A.N-Her hair was as long as his-waist length.

The strange girl just stared at him and giggled. Then she splashed him again. But she didn't use hands….she used a shiny black-blue fin! (Holy hell! A mermaid!?) Thought Swiftfeather.

Suddenly she was gone. He stood up. And stared out at the lake…the mermaid appeared farther away and she waved good-bye. Swiftfeather smiled and waved back. The mermaid then

Disappeared into the water. Swiftfeather ran back to camp to tell Bullhorn and the Elder of his findings.
