East Side Tilly

I strive to be the best at what I do, and I am. Thirty-seven years at the top of my game. I always come in first. I always do whatever it takes. I don't take the law or even ethics into consideration. I am above that, I am above everything and everyone.

I started out young, inexperienced, but over the years I learned. I learned the best way to receive the information before everyone else. I learned what information to share and what information to keep to myself. I learned timing; when to set the town into self-induced excitement or into a destructive run, as I watched it all unfold in front of me.

They were all at my mercy. My own personal ant farm if you will. An experiment that inadvertently made me their leader. Even to this day they don't realize how I've shaped this town. Made it what it is today. Some would look at Stars Hollow as a safe tourist harbor, which in a way, I guess it is, but to me it's so much more.

They called me East Side Tilly. Okay, so I was the one to spread that name around town. I liked the name for two reasons. First, I was from the west side of town, so no one would suspect me. And second, it was somewhat close to my real name. The name gave me hidden hope. They all believed I was a real person, but no one knew my true identity.

All good things must face their own trials though, and mine came in the form of two well-rounded women. Miss Patty and Babette. For years now they've tried to dethrone me. Tried to become the best. It's two against one, the odds are against me, but I'm not worried. I've been at this longer than them. I have will. I have drive. And ultimately I have nothing else. Patty has her dance studio. Babette has Morey and her cats. This is all I have. It's a little sad, I know, but I really don't care.

You would think being the town's reigning 'gossip queen' would be enough, but not for me. This was my town and I couldn't let anything be left to chance. I needed a more active role. One that differed completely from what I already had. That was the easy part. I grew up in this town, so no one expected me.

No one knew the real me. My second alias became more anal retentive, but it happened so gradually that no one even noticed. From this new point I had more power. It started out small, but ultimately ended up with me having complete power over the whole town. By the time they realized, well, it was too late.

I created laws upon laws, contracts upon contracts, committees upon committees. There were no loopholes, there were no secondary roads in which the townspeople could take to get around me. There was only my way.

They were all forced to take my way and that angered them most of the time. I relished in that. I liked angry, frustrated people. They were the funnest to watch.

Now you're probably wondering if I have a favorite townsperson to annoy, well I don't. I will admit that there are some I like to mess with more than others, but they're all my children. I could never pick a favorite. I will rule fairly and ultimately until my death, but until then I will be known as both East Side Tilly and...

"Taylor, what are you doing up that telephone pole?" Kirk yelled at me.

"Nothing," I replied as I fixed the tap I'd placed on the telephone wire to make Patty believe she was picking up other people's phone conversations... amateur. "Just doing my civic duty, Kirk."

The End
