Pointless drabble that probably makes no sense. Set towards the end of Black/White which I have not played in a long time. Also, I am really tired. I hope you enjoy reading anyway.
Two sides of a coin
"Come on, this way!" Cilan's fingers were slender and delicate-looking but they almost crushed Burgh's within them as he tugged the other Gym Leader toward an exit.
After he and the other Gym Leaders had been defeated by Team Plasma, Burgh certainly hadn't been expecting a rescue. But then Cilan was suddenly there, freeing the other Gym Leaders and everyone was splitting into groups and searching for an exit. Everyone except Cilan who grabbed Burgh, who'd happened to be closest, and pulled him back the way the other Gym Leaders had come before they'd been captured. Burgh expected they would have run into someone by now but the halls were eerily silent. How had Cilan known no-one would be here? And where were his brothers? Normally one was never without the other two.
"Cilan where are-?" Burgh began but the green-haired Gym Leader foresaw the question and spoke before he'd finished.
"They're safe, right now we need to worry about you, you guys are the ones in danger." He said, pulling Burgh along, almost making the older Gym Leader stumble, Cilan was stronger than he expected, and really fast.
We. We are the ones in danger. Burgh amended mentally, but he didn't waste his breath correcting Cilan out loud, just followed him quickly as they turned a corner and then stopped dead, staring at the two males blocking their path.
It was two of the three ninja-like Pokémon trainers that directly served the leader of Team Plasma, the Shadow Triad, they called themselves, if Burgh's memory was correct. But why only two?
Cilan's grip threatened to break Burgh's bones and Burgh felt the grass-type trainer's hand go clammy from cold fear so quickly he was alarmed. But Cilan didn't look frightened. Actually, yes, he did, but there was no anticipation on his face, no fear of a fight. He just looked freaked out more than anything. Probably wasn't used to doing this sort of thing without Chili and Cress. Again, where were his brothers? The three of them were never apart. Why now?
"What are you two doing here?!" Asked Cilan, his voice shooting up several octaves with distress, "we decided-"
Wait, what?
"No, you decided," one of the Shadow trio corrected, "we always intended to stick to the plan."
Before, Burgh had thought the three identical, but now he saw that these two, at least, were ever so slightly different. The one who had spoken had bright, cobalt-blue eyes while the remaining triad had fiery red eyes.
Just like…
Burgh's heart hammered, "Cilan, what's going on?"
"Well?" Demanded the red-eyed triad, and, in his heart, Burgh knew who he was, "are you with us or what?!"
There was silence for a second and then...
"You know I won't fight you," Cilan told the pair softly, confirming Burgh's worst fears, still, he resisted. Chili, Cress and Cilan were good Gym Leaders, good people, this could not be true!
"Cilan-?" Burgh's voice cracked ever so slightly with grief.
Cilan let go of the bug-type Gym Leader's hand.
"I'm sorry Burgh."
This is pointless. I just have a lot of feelings about the Striaton Trio being the Shadow Triad! Even though I don't actually think they are, in the manga, anime or games. Still! I love the idea! And I hope you liked this fic. Bye guys!
