Another original Thomas story by Samantha613, this time it's "James and the Coal Run" Enjoy and comment.
"James and Percy are best friends on the Island of Sodor, but sometimes, they will argue and get in fights, but there are other times where James sometimes tricks engines."
One day, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.
"Hello, James. I have a job to ask of you. You are to go to the coaling plant and collect some coal cars for the the winter coal run tonight.", said Sir Topham Hatt.
"Yes, sir. Is it alright if Percy comes with me?", James asked.
"No, Percy can't come. He has the mail train to pull.", said Sir Topham Hatt.
James wasvery disappointed, but he knew that he had to be really useful and do as he was told, so he set off to the coaling plant at once.
"It's not fair!", James said to himself along the way.
When he got to the coaling plant, the manager could tell that James wasn't too happy to see him. "James, it's okay to work on oneself for a while if it's necessary." he said, but James wasn't listening. He was thinking of a way he could trick Percy into doing the coal run with him.
Just then, an idea flew into James's funnel.
"I got a good plan ahead.", James said.
The next day, he decided to go ahead with his plan.
"Hello, Percy. Would you like to take the coal run?", James asked.
"Uh, thanks for asking James, but I have to take the mail train again with Thomas.", Percy said.
"But Sir Topham Hatt told me to tell you that you can help me tonight!"
"Oh, okay. I'll help.", Percy agreed, "But who will take the mail train?"
"Thomas will take care of it." replied James.
Percy agreed to this, and he set off to finish his job, while James snickered quietly to himself.
That night, before Percy arrived, James had quickly halved the grumbling freight cars into place. The freight cars grumbled about it.
"Quiet!" snapped James.
The freight cars behaved well after that.
Soon, Percy arrived. He was coupled up to his freight cars, and they both puffed away.
James was very pleased with himself, because he had gotten Percy to do the job with him.
But he forgot one fact: He forgot to tell Thomas about it, and he was now in for deep trouble...
And when Sir Topham Hatt found out, he too, was cross.
"You are a very naughty engine!" boomed Sir Topham Hatt.
"I'm sorry sir." said James. "All I wanted to do was work with Percy."
That night, James turned to Percy.
"I'm sorry if I tricked you." said James.
"I forgive you, James. We're still friends, you know.", Percy said.
James, Percy, and Thomas had worked out their problems with the coal run and had become good friends once again.
