A short story behind Maria's fear of fights/stabbing/death.
Maria, followed by Headmaster Kinsel and Professor Norman, walked up to the pensieve in the Headmaster's office. She turned her head around and looked at the headmaster. The balding man nodded his head, and Maria slid the wand out from behind her ear and she pointed the tip on her head. She closed her eyes and pulled the wand away from her head, a silvery substance emerging. It followed her wand as she pointed it at the pensieve and the substance dropped into it. Kinsel and Norman stepped up to the dusty stone basin and the trio looked into it...
A younger Maria, about 12, unlocks her bike from the padlock. She rolls it out and hops on, and rides towards the exit. Ahead of her, there is a pair of bullies kicking and shoving another kid. Maria sees the three kids and she puts her foot on the ground, stopping the bike. She stares at the bullies, and then at the kid, who screams, "Help!"
Maria glared at the bullies and kicked off, riding right into the bullies. She jumped off, the other kid running away. "Hey you little freak!" one of the bullies yelled as they shoved her. The other bully also taunted her as he kneed her, "Watcha doing out here, you little bitch, huh!?"
Maria lifted her fists and punched the two in the face and then the knocked her to the ground. Bully one kicked her as number two grabbed her hair and punched her. Maria screamed, alerting the two teachers talking outside. The teachers ran towards the scream, and they ran down the ramps. As they neared, bully two took out a knife and suddenly stabbed Maria. Once Maria screamed at the top of her lungs, the bullies ran away and the teachers ran up to her and bends over. "Call an ambulance! Now!"
The woman teacher grabbed her phone and called... The ambulance stopped in front of the school and picked up Maria, who was bleeding badly.
The memory blanked out and went forward in time...
"She was pretty lucky she did not get stabbed in the heart... Too close... Too close," a doctor muttered in the background. Maria's eyes fluttered open and she slowly looked around the hospital room. "She's awake!" a man said. He rushed by her side, "Maria, dear, can you hear me?" Maria mumbled nonsense as her eyes opened all the way. She screamed again and nursed suddenly rushed over and turned on the iv pain medications. Maria then groaned, turned her head, and passed out again.
Maria, Kinsel, and Norman lifted their heads after the memory ended. Maria turned her head towards her professors and Kinsel nodded, "I see... Why you take the prefect thing so far... You-" "Don't want anybody to be nearly killed... Or injured... Yeah..." Kinsel looked at Norman and then at Maria, and he signed, "You may leave." Maria nodded and left the office...
