A short poem from James POV, thinking on what Jessie would be like as his girlfriend, and what she would say. Was going to expand it, but hey, the bus ride ended too quickly!

I Love You Jessie (Just From A Distance)

We've been really close whilst growing up together.

In reality Jess, we've always been apart.

Always acting platonically, did we ever

Attempt to strengthen our friendship by sharing one heart?

We've slept together (granted, a few feet's distance)

We've caused laughter, shared drinks and confided in tears.

I see you as my support and strength; for instance,

I've told you all of my dark and innermost fears.

Now, let's shed that bond, give way for something deeper

For I do love you more than you can ever know.

I don't want it to be drastically steeper—

Far from it. I'm willing to take things quite slow.

I cook some breakfast whilst you apply your lipstick.

I hold these thoughts back for good reason; I'm now thinking

That you don't love me back (I'm frequently called 'thick')

These words are kept unheard, to stop my heart from sinking.
