Author's Notes: I wrote this because, between you and me, everyone
knows that Mamoru is an idiot. Sure, he get good grades, and he's
sensible, but where emotions are involved . . . this guy has no clue!
Look what he did to poor Usagi-chan! *sniff* Anyway, I was wondering
what he would do if his stupidity caused Usako to lose her young,
carefree (kinda) life. Ok, so it's not that original, but have you seen
how many Sailor Moon fics there are? Too many to count! Against that,
what chance do I have of originality?

She just stared at me, tears streaming down her face like rain through
a cloudless sky. To see her like that . . . Kami-sama, it broke my
heart. And it was all because of me. I myself felt the urge to cry, but
I couldn't. For Usako's safety, I had to be strong.
The sensation was just too powerful. I had to get out of there, before
I broke down and told her everything. Willing my expressionless mask to
stay in place, I turned and began to stride away. Still she stared, a
look of betrayal and pain sketched over her perfect face.
As I walked down the street and out of her of her life, I heard her
choke back a sob, and the breeze carried towards me her words.
"Sayonara, Mamo-chan."
I didn't wait to hear any more. I broke into a run, heading straight
for my appartment. Locking the door, I collapsed on the floor, and
cried . . .

I know it's short! Just . . . no flames. Anyway, this is just the
prologue, and anyone who knows me at all will tell you I always make
