Skyeward au, no hydra or inhumans
Skye and Grant had been together for 3 years and known each other for 6. They met all those years ago on the bus (plane)and Grant wanted go propose. There were no rules within the agency stopping them but he wanted to make sure Coulson and May were okay with it, they were practically the parents on the bus, especially for Skye who didn't know her parents. Ward knocked on Coulsons office door. "come in" He hears Coulson say and May looks like she is going to leave. "can you stay May?" She nods saying nothing so Ward shuts the door. Wards gets straight to the point "you know Skye and I are together and I want to propose" "why does this concern us?" May asks "I wanted your blessing" Ward was nervous, Coulson and May both smile "well you have my blessing" Phil says happily "you have mine as well but know that if you ever even think about hurting Skye, I will kill you" "wouldn't have it any other way" "when are you going to ask her?" Phil questions "After the mission in Amsterdam I was thinking about taking her to dinner then going for a walk along the canal, think you can delay take-off for a few hours May?" "I'll see what I can do" is the only reply he gets and May walks out leaving the door open, suggesting the conversation is over. "thank you Coulson, this means alot to me" Ward leaves going to prepare for the mission.
The mission went smoothly and afterwards Ward goes and knocks on Skye's bunk door. "hey Grant" she greets "hi do you want to go out for some dinner? May and Coulson have something to do while we're here and Fitzsimmons are having a t.v show marathon or something" "sounds good give me 20 minutes to get changed and I'll meet you at the door" Ward then goes to get changed in his bunk.
The dinner tasted delicious and the scenery of Amsterdam was beautiful. "Thank-you for dinner Grant, and I know May and AC aren't doing anything tonight so how did you convince them not to take off" Grant stops knowing Skye no longer believes his cover story and he gets down on one knee with a ring box in hand. "Skye, we've been together for three years, known each other for 6 years and you have made me a better person, the team would be very different without you even if in the beginning I didn't want you there. I love you so will you marry me?" Wards heart skipped a beat waiting for her to answer "of course I will, yes" he slips the ring on her finger stands up and leans in for a gentle kiss. When they started walking back Skye says "May and Coulson knew about this so lets not say anything to anyone, see how observant they really are" Ward laughs and with a cheeky smile says, "it's you that has the ring on your finger."
