Javert's Silent Soliloquy
I look to the heavens; the stars stare back
Bright and burning, never-changing, guiding,
You shine with grace I dream to have, yet lack
Humbled by your purity, you're blinding
So I follow your lead to righteousness
Abandon compassion, follow what's just
For me the pursuit of rogues is endless
Sacrifice pleasures, I've done what I must
Yet now it seems I've been wrong all these years
I sold my soul to serve man's wicked law
I look to the heavens and find black fears
Cold and hollow, my life was only flaw
How is it I sought Heaven and found Hell?
I'll forsake life, this fallen sentinel.
