Chapter 1 will be posted tommorow.

He sighs and allows his brain to lose all control. The blade penetrates through the golden skin of his slender wrist. Long fingers grip the edge of the shiny of crimson travel down his tanned wrist as he digs the blade deeper into his skin. Deeper, deeper and deeper until he can't go any further.

She watches and gasps. A short, barely audible sound heard only by her. She tries to tear her eyes away from the crimson trails on her boyfriends wrist in front of her, but she can't. Without thinking, she marches over to the love of her life and firmly grasps his wrist, the one that wasn't bleeding of course.

'What is this' she asks, her voice wavering as she tries to remain calm.

'Clary, I - '

And Clary throws herself into him, grasping his bleeding wrist in her tiny, pale hands, her finger tips brushing against his pure being. Blood stains her fingertips but she doesn't care. She buries her face into his chest and cries. She cries for him. The only one she ever loved and he was broken. Broken beyond repair.

'Jace, why? Why did you do this. I love you. Please don't ever do this to me again. Jace! Are you listening! Do you hear me?! Promise me!' Clary says, choking back sobs.

'I can't promise you, Clary.'

Jace falls back onto the sofa, leaving Clary confused. Then it hits her.

'JACE!'

But it's too late.

Scanning his body, she finds what she was looking for.

Jace's hand, still grasping his seraph blade, is on his heart, the blade buried deep in his body. Clary checks his pulse. Once. Twice. Three Times.

Nothing.

She searches his body for any sign of life, and as expected.

Nothing.

Too shocked to cry, she buries her face in his non-rising chest and sleeps. Her heart breaks and she manages to come undone. Her heart slows, her breathing shallows. She can't live without Jace. She doesn't wake up.

Imagine the shock on everybody's face when they return to the institute to find both Jace and Clary, dead.
