It was a quite morning. It was basically like every morning except that her Nan had gone to work. Lana moved effortlessly through her normal morning routine. It was basically spend fifteen minutes checking her emails and other stuff on the computer, get dressed, eat, do makeup and hair, then brush teeth. After that she had to go to school.
This morning she had finished everything with twenty minutes to spare, so she went a sat in the kitchen. She started reading a book that she had started the day before. She was at the part where the big bads of the book came in. Lana always loved the big bads, she'd loved Spike on Buffy and loved Diana in the Gone series books. Everyone loved the good ones, but Lana thought that that bad ones brought excitement to everything.
Five minutes had gone by when Lana heard one of the floorboards creak in the other room. Once she had her bookmark in, she walked out of the kitchen and into the old style hallway. It was made out of dark wood and it wasn't the kind that was all shiny and new. She paused a moment and listened. Upstairs she heard creaking.
Feeling a wave of adrenaline, she went into a room connected by the hallway and pick up a knife. It was a very sharp one and similar to a switch blade. Lana wasn't sure who was in her house, but she wanted to be sure that if it was someone bad, she could stand up for herself.
Using precautions, Lana crept silently across the floor. The stairs were in the kitchen oddly enough. Before she crept on the stairs, Lana tightened her grip on the knife. She didn't want to have a loose grip and mess up if it came down to anything violent. Once she was sure she was ready, Lana stepped on the first stair, then the second, then the third. But on the fourth one, the staircase creak. Lana almost blew her cool by swearing out loud, but caught herself. She advanced up the staircase, with no further problems.
The stairs opened up into a big room, in which she saw a guy that was her age, seventeen. He had dark hair, the kind that was black. His back was to her , but Lana was pretty sure he knew she was here. The one other thing that Lana noticed was that he had a gun in his pocket.
Slowly he turned around and faced her. She noticed that he was the kind of guy that was drop dead gorgeous. And one other thing that popped out was that he was extremely pale.
Lana aimed and threw her knife straight at him. She always had good aim, and this timeit paid off. The knife went right into him. A smug look came onto her face until she noticed that he didn't have a look of pain on his face. Instead he looked pretty happy.
Lana drew in a breath when she noticed him pulling out the knife. He did this by rolling up his shirt. When the knife was out she noticed that he didn't have a scare on his chest.
"You really shouldn't have done that."
