So I have been super busy with school stuff and, in celebration of finishing this really big portfolio project, I decided to write a one-shot. I always wondered how Mr. and Mrs. Weasley found out about Fred and George's leaving school. This is the way I think it could have happened. Please review if you get the chance!

Dearest Mum and Dad,
We figured by now you would have received a certain letter from school, or perhaps one from Ron or Ginny containing some. We ask that if you have not, please refrain from reading the remaining portion of this letter until that time.
Well then, now that's out of the way…please understand that this was not some result of boredom done on a whim, it was months and months of actually trying to get on well in our seventh year, but we could not take the rubbish any longer. If you had met that wretched woman you would understand completely. We will admit to disregarding the newly instated rules by giving allegiance to a certain student organization which provided us with the knowledge and skill needed to defend ourselves should special circumstances occur. We may remind you that we were not the only ones involved (there were more than us two Weasleys in the bunch). Our failure of resistance came with the sacking of Dumbledore. Though we don't doubt Dumbledore is paces ahead of anyone moron at the ministry (no offense, Dad) who's after him, we did not believe that standing by and watching that happen without taking action was morally responsible.
We know that you must be fretting over our suffering educations; however, we can assure you that anything we were learning this year at school would have been of no use to us in the real world. (The only worthwhile instruction we received was from that certain student organization.) Although we appear to be as you Mum would so sweetly put it, "wasting our years away on ridiculous nonsense that only serves the purpose of disruption," but we have put a great deal of thought into our futures. That is why we did not return home after departing school¸ not out of fear—though, were circumstances different, fear would have played a very significant factor is where we would be living for the rest of the year—but rather, let's call it ambition. We are happy to announce that we had acquired (in a very legal way) an establishment in Diagon Alley—Number 93 to be exact. By luck, there is also a small flat upstairs where we will be staying. We already have developed a great number of products and quite a following. We know the first few months will be difficult, especially with the majority of our patrons in school (though we do offer a promising mail order business), but we expect it to take off more sooner than later. After all, who doesn't need a laugh once in a while, eh?
We regret the impersonal nature of a letter, but presuming the reaction we might have received if we had arrived home would not be a particularly pleasant one, we thought it best to use the written communication first—give some time for the idea to settle in. We hope your vast disappointment will soon fade into a small glimmer of hope for us. We understand it may take some time for you to warm up to idea; however, should you ever choose to visit or write to us again…
