Love- Hate

That pervert.

Rin could only watch the video. A nearly naked Len was moving vigorously to some pop song.

"All for the spirit of music!" He had cried out at the start. The girl saw no shame in his dance.

How are we even friends?

"There is no other! Rin! I love you!" Len boomed over the microphone, hand out toward his crush.

From the side, Baldie gave him a thumb's up.

Thanks, old man!

The principal had let the boy on stage after the official's speech. The student, prior to the time of the assembly, had asked to use the area. After he had explained, the elder couldn't resist "the chance to aid young love."

Len saw heads turned to a very bright- faced girl.

The blonde grinned.

"If there's going to be a wedding, I want it to be in a place with lots of trees."

Rin was trying ignored the person trailing behind her. She heard snickers and whispers from the sides of the hall.

Len continued to ramble. "And we should have a kid."

… What?

"No, wait. We should have three. Yeah!"

Excuse me?!

The girl felt her cheeks heating up. She spun around. "Why?! We're only fourteen! You know that, right?!"

Len shrugged. "I'm just saying. Not to pressure you or anything."

She heard the laughs bursting from left to right. Rin pressed her face on the books in her arms.

"Here! For you!" Len held out the stuffed toy. "If you add milk onto the panda, it'll turn into a polar bear!"

Rin said nothing. She didn't like that?

"Don't worry." He gave out a chuckle. "It's just something you can do."

For a moment, she was still quiet.

Hm?

"Hey. I didn't see you on your way to school. Is something wrong?"

"… You idiot. Listen."

Eh? Why was she mad?

"How can you be so sure of your feelings?"

The boy paused to think. "Hm. I don't know." He admitted. "But I love you." He quickly added. "That's probably it. Even if I become wiser, I'm sure that'll be the answer."

Dang it!

"That guy and his confessions." Rin held the bear over the trash can in her room.

I don't like him. The girl was shaking. He has so many flaws. He's not really my type. She tried to throw the toy in. That's why I'm reacting this way. Yeah.

She couldn't let go of the bear.

For some reason, her body wanted to hold it tight instead.

"Love? Hate? Isn't there a middle ground in between?"

"Rainbow Quartz." Len smiled as Rin stared into the box she opened. "Happy birthday."

"How did you-"

"Know? I saw you looking at it on the way home." He just smiled. "Saved up all of my allowance for it, too."

Rin said, hushed. "Len."

"Hey. It's no problem. Trust me."

The girl was silent for a moment before she said, "Do you really love me?"

The boy nodded. "Without a doubt."

"None?"

He brought out his guitar. "None at all."

Rin watched as he proceeded to play the instrument. Len was performing, just for her, with all of his heart.

He keeps on using the word "love" a lot.

The rock felt heavy in her hand.

She couldn't help but smiled.

She couldn't help but smiled at this boy… this silly, sweet boy.

Love? Hate?

She had been forced to make a choice.

But Rin was happy with her decision.

A/N: I don't own the franchise Vocaloid or the song Love- Hate.

Originally, I hadn't planned to make a fic for Valentine's. But after hearing Love- Hate today… yeah… this happened. A one- shot that was based on a song, full of cheesy head- canons, and possibly also clichés. All created by a single, lonely girl spending the day away on the computer. Eh, what the heck.

On another note: doesn't anyone else think that in Hanatan's and ASK's cover of the said piece, the latter sounds like Watari from Your Lie in April?

No one? Okay.

If you have time, please review. Happy V- day, peeps!
