Hi everyone, well here's my first complete story. I found it in my usb drive a while ago and decided to finish and tweak it a bit until I was satisfied with it. Unfortunately on my usb it didn't have whether or not it was me, who wrote it or if it was just another story from fan fiction since I used to like to save stories onto word so that when I was traveling I have something good to read instead of dying of boredom. Usually I always had which author wrote the story but this one only had a title. I searched fan fiction for a story of the same title and came up with nothing. The story itself sounds like something I would have wrote and I'm almost positive I did since I can vaguely remember typing some of this stuff. But just to be safe, if this indeed someone's story please send me a message and ill credit or remove it altogether from fan fiction. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you like it.
DONE
She was done.
Done with crying, done with waiting, done with loving him.
She just couldn't understand why he left; it had to be something more than just "I'm putting you in danger." Had they not been attacked when he was with them? Had they not been captured and then escaped with him? When was it HE, that put them in danger? If anything it might have been her when she still had that chip in her arm.
The first few days, she cried him a river. She ate nothing, drank nothing, just stayed in the room her mom had provided and cried her mutant heart out. She just couldn't understand, how after everything they had been through, and everything they had shared, he would be the one to deliver the final blow that would finally break her.
He was the last person she thought would ever hurt her this way, he new and understood just how bad Jeb's betrayal had affected her, how bad it had pained her to accept it. He knew, and yet he still did, he still left.
He was a coward, he said goodbye through pen and paper. That alone hurt much more than she ever thought possible.
This was exactly why she was afraid to open up her heart to him, to love him more than just a brother. She didn't want to hurt; she didn't want her flock to suffer should anything happen between them; she didn't want to lose him. He was her rock; he was her shoulder to lean on, her best friend and that alone meant the world to her.
That's why she didn't want to be with him in the first place, she loved her flock and she would never make them choose between him or her. She had been perfectly fine with loving him in silence but no, he just had to go all un- Fang like and basically declare that he loved her and that they should be together.
He had PROMISED her that that would never happen, that no matter what, they would always stick together. He promised her he would never leave her again.
He lied.
When she emerged from the room, a broken piece of whom she once was, something in her snapped when she saw her flock, her family in such a saddening state.
Right then and there she knew her purpose, her resolve. Her family always came first and so would it continue to be. She pushed her feelings away, buried them deep down and pushed memories of him to the back of her mind. Her family needed her and her family would have her, all of her.
They were her purpose. She would live for them, the ones that stuck by her, the ones that never left her.
She was done, she decided.
Through with waking up in the middle of the night because she still dreamt of him, through with wondering if that, maybe, if she had done something different, he would still be there with her, with them. Through with the pain he inflicted upon her already fragile heart.
She had finally learned her lesson.
She didn't care if he came back in twenty years, because if he did, she wouldn't be there waiting for him.
