Her head was buzzing. Perhaps it was the nargles. The forest always had a lot of those little creepers. She usually didn't mind but right now her thoughts were muddled enough without the nargles. She couldn't comprehend the past few days.. How he was always on her mind. How the glint of his platinum hair in the sun was mesmerizing. Especially during care of magical creatures. It was almost scary how he was constantly on her mind.

Suddenly she heard a twig snap in the distance.

Curious, she thought. Most people did not care to venture into the forest. They were far too cautious of the mysteries within.
Then who, or what, might that be? Creatures residing in the forest usually prefer to come out towards the evening.

Crunching of leaves, the sound of footsteps treading on the dry leaves of the forest floor.

A person, she thought. Also unusual.
Her heart sped up as she caught the familiar glint of platinum blonde in the sun. His elegant graceful gait was clear evidence of his sophisticated upbringings.
He was tall, at least a head higher than she was. His enchanting silver eyes were following the trail he was on. She could see that his mind was distracted. His eyes were unfocused and far away.
His face was the mask of blank emotion she knew only too well.

Slowly his eyes rose to where she sat.
'Lovegood', he sounded slightly perturbed but as always he contained his expressions.

'Hello Draco. I hadn't expected to see you here.'

Did her voice quiver slightly? She was confused and fascinated by him all at once.

'Likewise.' He drawled.

'Do you come here often?' she inquired. Unlikely, she had not come across him before.

'No. This is the second time since detention in first year. I was terrified of this place.' A smirk. 'The darkness used to frighten me.' Another thought crossed his mind.

'It's the darkness inside us we must truly fear.' She said.

He looked at her, this time curiosity and surprise mingled in his eyes. It was as if she had read his mind. His steel gaze lingered on her for a few seconds. Their eyes met, both looking into the murky depths of a silver they knew so well. There was unquestionable electricity in the air. The atmosphere throbbed like a living being, buzzing between them.

She broke away from the connection first and turned her head away from him. She had never experienced anything like that. Their connection was electric.

He was shaken. What was that? It was unlike anything he had ever experienced. When he looked into her eyes, he could feel her staring into his soul. The intensity was beyond anything he had come across before. It was like being somewhere in between reality. Luna Lovegood. Could it be?

He looked back to reassure himself.

She was gone.
