"A cake! a cake! the most deliciious of all cakes!."

The cook sang happily as she finished the birthday cake she was working on. It was a baby blue three floors cake. As she sang, a bony hand grabbed the box of candles and another one placing a new box of candles where the other one used to be. The cook didn't notice this and placed eleven light blue candles atop the tallest tier. Once she was done, she placed the box next to the oven and carried the cake out of the kitchen. Two identical red-haired, hazel-eyed girls from the window and into the kitchen.

"Happy birthday to you, Sister!." Said Roxanne.

"What's a birthday party at Velasquez's without a surprise?." Said Amelia. "Shouldn't we taking the show, Sister?"

"You know how I love fireworks!." Said Roxanne as she and Amelia exited the kitchen as well. Although none of them noticed the wind blowing a flame from the lit stove into the box of candles.

The cook ushered the cake into the room, much to the excitement of the many guests. Standing at the head of the table, the birthday girl nodded approvingly as the cook set the light blue cake before her. Everyone was too busy drooling over the cake that they didn't notice Amelia and Roxanne when they tip toed into the living room and hid behind the curtains. It wasn't too long before the guests started singing.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!"

Roxanne covered her ears. She hated the "Happy Birthday" song. But more than that, she hated the birthday girl.

Her baby blue dress.

Her tacky earrings.

The blue ribbon in her hair.

"I'm going to be sick, Sister," Roxanne moaned, slumping against the wall.

"Be patient, Sis. You don't want to miss the fireworks, do you?" Amelia asked. She peered out from behind the drapes that hid him and his sister from the party.

Roxanne's eyes narrowed as ran a hand through a brouse on her forehead, which was product of a fight she had with Jacqueline Velasquez a few days ago when Jacqueline insulted Roxanne and her family and, like always, Jacqueline managed to trick their parents and the principal into believing that it was all Roxanne's fault. Jacqueline's parents loaded her with presents while the principal suspended Roxanne.

"Happy birthday, dear Jacqueline..."

Amelia clutched at the drapes, drawing them to his mouth so the heavy fabric muffled her giggles while Roxanne smirked.

Jacqueline took a deep breath and leaned in.

Ex-ploosh!

Frosting erupted in all directions, and sugared rosebuds shot across the room like tiny connonballs. Too late, the horrified partygoers threw their hands up to protect themselves from the torrent of frosting. The cook screamed.

Jacqueline stood at the head of the table, fudgey cake splattered across her party dress and thick icing dripping from her ebony hair. The birthday girl stared at the spot where her beautiful cake once sat, all color drained from her face.

In the madness following the explosion, Roxanne and Amelia slipped from the drapes and back to the kitchen.

"You know Amelia, it's not often you see a fireworks display that starts and ends with the grand finale." Said Roxanne.

"True." Said Amelia as they entered the kitchen. "But still satisfactory enough."

"I think all the fashionable girls on Bellhood will be wearing cake this year."

As they got ready to leave to leave, they finally noticed the box candles on fire and the floor sack next to it and the smiles quickly left their faces.

"Any suggestions?." Amelia asked her sister.

"Yes: Run." Said Roxanne.

"Bloom!"

But before either of them could move, the candles exploded, sending the floor in all directions, and covering the twins from head to toe.
