I got bored and felt that another random short was due! This is after When times slows and When time moves to fast.
I don't own Naruto
When Time Curses You
There was no light. But he could still see.
There was no heat. But he wasn't cold.
There was no hope. But he felt no fear.
His life had already ended days ago. What he did now was for survival. Nothing more. Nothing less.
He knew what they where whispering about once they brought him home and locked him up. His friends were scared and clueless. His mentors where sad and heartbroken. The village was outraged and fearful.
He was a demon now. The fox had been freed to be reborn. This left him with the foxes old body and powers. Even his mind as well.
Power. Lust. Envy. Greed. Hate. Contempt. Gluttony. Sadness. Pride. Wrath. Sloth. Happiness. Fear.
So many words. Now they really were just words.
Survive.
Survive.
Survive.
Live.
Live.
Live.
Protect.
Protect...
Protect?
"Protect..." Who?
"Yourself." Intense red eyes met cold pale lavender.
"Neji?" His voice was a horrible sound to bare. It made Neji flinch.
"They told me. About Hinata." The name was so sweet to hear. "You need to leave."
The mass of fur in the cell moved closer to the human. It's eyes asked the question.
"You know the safety of the village is always first. And with you... like this..."
The demon understood this from the moment it came here. It just needed a moment to let its human side go. To free it's self from its last emotion: love.
But that was the hardest to let go of. And with love the others would return: Hate, fear, happiness...
"... they are going to kill you."
"They can not harm me." Nine giant tails wrapped around the massive fox.
"You were the first person who made me see myself as who I was. And made me change for the best."
Tears spilled down his cheeks. "If not for you I would have never made up with Hinata. I might have not even cared... at this moment... about her."
"They are coming. They haven't a choice in this matter. Leave. Naruto leave." And with that he left with a whispered good bye.
Then they entered. The strongest ninjas in the village. Many he knew. A few he loved.
"Survive. Live. Protect." With a swish of his tails and a swirl of fire he was gone.
Gone to survive in the world.
Gone to live for himself.
Gone to protect them from afar.
Or, that is, until he figures out how to get ride of the damn love emotion and free himself fully. Because to time, emotions are meaningless when you are cursed to be alone.
