Kristen's Introduction:
It was a dark, storming morning– August 13. My father was rushing mom to the hospital. 30 minutes later, she was set in a room on the third floor and was having contractions. My father told a joke and mom laughed. 10 minutes later, I was born at 2:10 AM. Then, I got cleaned off with a pink hospital blanket, and was set into my mother's arms, where she put on my little baby booties with my little hat, both purple. I remembered her black and white face as she put me in the pink hospital bed with my name on the side.
Peyton's Introduction:
It was a dark August morning, with rain pouring buckets. I remember this being described to me by my sister, Kristen. My mum and dad were rushing to the hospital as her contractions got closer together. The room they were placed in was a light yellow with little storks holding a baby with a blanket hanging from it's beak. I was born at 2:15 that morning, first held by my dad. His dark hair was hanging in front of his glasses. I remember being handed off to my mum before being placed in a light green bed.
The Accident
After a couple of hours, the hospital released the family early, and the rain was still pouring. Kristen and Peyton were wrapped in fuzzy blankets – Kristen in a pink blanket, Peyton in a light green one. They were set in their baby seats, and the car rolled onto the road. Now, seeing as it was dark and stormy, the dad had a harder time of viewing the road and anything on it. During a green light, someone on the other side of the road – where the light was red – decided to keep going, and jammed into the mother's side of the car. The car spun, the mother hit her head on the window (causing major blood loss) and the father hit the metal seatbelt, hard enough it cracked his skull bone. Both of the parents died that day, but both twins survived.
