disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts is not mine, unfortunatley.
pairings: Sora/Kairi
note: SHOCKER! Me, the one whose been writing Roxas/Kairi fics since the dawn of time, or when I first got a fanficion has written a SoKai, maybe because I found SoKai hard to write. Be proud you SoKai fans, but still I love Roxiri, it was my first favorite couple so it has a special place in my heart. Well I hope ya'll like it. (I'm reposting this, since fanfiction was acting all weird.)
song: Just Like Heaven by The Cure. One of my favorite summer songs and the song that inspired this.

catch me, drop me, and spin me around
just make sure I'm in your arms in the end

She was a strange girl, he decided. With her pretty pretty hair, and blue violet eyes, she would spin and twirl and laugh underneath the moonlight with the fireflies. And she was just like him, all smiles and games, full of bubbly laughter and maybe, just maybe she would like to walk hand and hand with him, as they dance around the fireflies and try to figure out this dizzying world together.
She is sweet too. Full of sugar, and spice and everything nice. And maybe, just maybe he could be her Peter Pan and she could be his Wendy. And they could fly around the sky, full of laughter because they have more than faith, trust and pixie dust, they have love. And there won't be a never, because they will have a forever, because Neverland is a place where they are together. And he likes that. He likes that very much.
And if she doesn't want him to be Peter Pan, he could be her Prince Charming. He could battle evil dragons, and go to the end of the world for her. And she'll be waiting for him, and when they reunite there will be flowers and wine and sea salt ice cream. There won't be a grander happily ever after than that one, he muses, grinning.
Perhaps, if she really wants him to, he could court her with the flowers and dances and the subtle flirting, which he had not yet mastered. He would do it for her. And then they would dance and dance, with all the twirls, dips and spins. They'll have picnics in the moonlight, and go boating on a crystal blue lake, where they kiss. He quite likes the idea.
He smiles faintly, before his eyes close and he falls asleep.
…
When he awoke, the world was swirling with color, so many colors and so many numbers. Because there were so many things they could be, and it was all colorful, and very wonderful, and he wonders if she would let him take her to Wonderland.
And they'll have tea, tarts and cake that would make them shrink and a drink that would make them grow. They'll walk hand in hand as they see all that resides in Wonderland. He'll defeat the Jabberwocky and she'll chase the white rabbit with him close behind. And they'll drink tea with the Mad Hatter, who will ask those riddles that neither knows the answer to, and the Cheshire Cat, will speak in riddles and prophecies, which neither will understand but discover.
And he discovers that he likes that life very much.
But they are so many lives they have to live, so many lifetimes of love and trust that he just wants to fast forward to that time, because dreaming about it will only get him so far. But then he sees her—only her— walking towards him and he thinks that there's no reason to fast forward.
Because she's here.
