Massie Block sat in her luxurious bed, staring deeply at the screen of her Macbook Air.
She was on MySpace, looking at her new boyfriend Derrick Harrington's About Me. Every time she read the disturbing words, she could feel her heart stop. Was it true? Was she not good enough for him?
On his screen was one of the pictures he had obviously taken from her "friends" album, the one with them sitting under Massie's favorite oak tree, laughing about whatever happened that day.
That was one of her favorite days, the day they took that picture. They weren't going out, but they looked legitimately happy, sitting thigh-to-thigh, grinning.
Underneath the picture was written, in big bold letters:
"Massie Block. She's my silver medal."

Derrick Harrington sat at his computer desk, happily chatting with his friends on MySpace. He had just put up an awesome picture of him and his new girlfriend Massie Block sitting under Massie's favorite tree.
Looking at the picture, he frowned. There was something missing. Everyone needed to know how important she was to him. He had an idea.
"Hey, Jessica!" He called to his 7-year-old sister. "I need your help. Come 'ere!"
When she came over, holding a couple of Barbies, he asked her, "What color is the best award at the Olympics?"
"Silver," she announced proudly. "It's the shiniest."
"Thanks." Derrick grinned and bravely typed under the picture, "Massie Block. She's my silver medal."
