Mourning
The worn pillars stood a silent vigil over the unremarkable grave. The gravestone was a dirty, mottled sort of gray. She deserved white because she was innocent. Pure. Beautiful. It was slightly wind worn but the inscription could still be read easily.

Forever Missed
The man that stood in front of the grave was more remarkable. Normally he was Dr. Horrible; he has a PHD in horribleness. Now he was simply Billy, dressed in his worn jeans and a hoodie. He held three roses in his hand, he was grasping them so hard that drops of blood ran out of his hand and dripped on the ground but Billy didn't even notice. The pain from the thorns was no where near as bad as the emotional pain he felt five years ago when he placed her on that gurney and the pain that he still felt, just as bad as if it happened just five minutes ago.
He knelt next to the gravestone, running his hand across the top. Tears came to his eyes as he remembered the one time he had been able to hold her in his arms. It had been already too late; she was already dead all because that dumbass Hammer wouldn't listen to him.
He pulled out of his pocket his inscriptor and added his own inscription.
I loved her, where is justice now?
"I am so sorry, Penny. I wish I had managed to tell you sooner." He placed the white rose on her grave. "This one is for your purity and innocence." He placed the pink rose on her grave "This one is for the friendship we shared." A sob escaped his throat as he placed the red rose on her grave. "And this one is for the love that I wish I could've shown you."
Rain started to patter down. He looked up, wishing it to wash the stains off his soul and wash his pain away. He knew that he wasn't actually the one that killed her but it still hurt so much knowing that it was his invention that killed her.
He pulled his hoodie closer around him and stood up as the wind whistled between the headstones. Her grave was just one in this graveyard of who knows how many but he would never forget it. He walked slowly out and he could have sworn he heard Penny's voice, barely above a whisper, say "I love you too, Billy buddy"
