Anybodys staggers through her door and falls into bed, relieved to be off her feet. Ice is right behind, worried, but she insists she's only tired. So he crawls under the covers and makes sure she's under them too. Secretly he thinks he should take her to a doctor, but the offices are closed and she doesn't want to go to the emergency room and wait for hours. She just wants to go to bed.

But Anybodys can't sleep. Her pillow is too thick and it hurts her neck; the moonlight pierces her closed eyelids and gives her a headache; her mind is restless. Her whole body aches and she shivers under her three blankets and Ice's protective arm. Just this one night, he tells himself, because he has to tell himself something. She'll be fine if she makes it through tonight.

Finally sleep comes, uneasily and for just a little while. She wakes up, disoriented, and falls back asleep, only to rouse again and again. At a quiet hour with no one walking on the street below, she cries out and begins to toss and turn, kicking blankets off of her shaking, sweating body.

"Anybodys!" Ice whispers harshly, and she opens her eyes. They're glassy-looking and a little wild. When he puts a hand to her forehead, it burns. "Anybodys, I think you're sick. You're really hot."

"Thanks," she replies, and he isn't sure if she's joking or genuinely confused. "Come on, seriously," he presses. "There's something wrong with you."

She sighs. "I know that, stupid." Her voice is weak but sarcastic, and Ice smiles. One night. He can do this."You think I can't tell?" she continues.

"Come here," he whispers, and pulls her trembling body into his arms. It's just as warm as her forehead. Ice chews on his bottom lip.

Minutes pass, and she doesn't stop shaking or fall asleep. "You hot or cold?" he asks, but Anybodys only groans in reply and presses into him. He holds her tighter.

Soon she struggles in his embrace, and he releases the pressure in his arms, letting her up. She swings her legs over the side of the bed, and Ice says, "Where you going?"

"I gotta pee," she whispers, and falls into the doorway when she stands.

Ice leaps out of bed and pulls her up, and together they walk to the bathroom. He waits for her outside and, instead of walking, carries her back to the bed. Her protests sound weak and feeble to his ears. Just this one night, he reminds himself. She'll be fine.

She still trembles violently, but Ice whispers in her ear until Anybodys drifts off. A few minutes after she falls asleep, the shaking lessens slightly. Though he's been up all night, Ice stays awake to make sure she keeps breathing. He stays awake until the sun peeks over the window and Anybodys' eyes open, bright and clear this time. Until the one night is over, and he knows everything is alright.
