Amy woke to the sound of soft whimpers that were steadily getting louder and louder. 1:07. 'Of course,' Amy thought to herself, 'a little over an hour of sleep.' Amy made a move to get up, but was stopped by a stronger force that had an almost death grip, that was strangely comforting, on her waist.
"Ricky," a groan in response, "I have to get up."
"Mmmm, no you don't," Rick replied, his voice husky from sleep. "You can just stay here; I like that plan much better anyway." Amy almost obliged to that proposal and was already half asleep when a full out wail came from her left. "I'll go get her," Ricky said, kissing Amy's shoulder, "Do you want her in here?" Amy only nodded in response. "All right Ames, I'll be right back." But, fate would have it; Amy woke up fully as soon as Ricky left the bed. 'Well this is just wonderful; I wake up just as he leaves to go get her.' Amy smiled as she heard Ricky's soft voice through the monitor.
"Hey baby girl, come see Daddy." Amy closes her eyes, a mental picture of the scene playing in her head. "Are you hungry baby girl? Let's go get you a bottle from downstairs, but we have to be quiet, Mama and John are trying to sleep, ok baby girl? Daddy loves you very much, you know that? And Daddy loves Mama and John, so that's why we have to let them sleep, ok baby girl? God, you are so gorgeous, you know that?" Amy couldn't keep from smiling; she loved the interactions between Ricky and Emily. Even at three months old, she knew that he was wrapped around Emily's finger and he'll do everything to make sure she gets the best life possible. Since they had John when they were in high school, they weren't able to give him everything he wanted, but they are both trying hard to give Emily a life that's much better. Amy slowly fell asleep thinking about her perfect husband, gorgeous daughter, and wonderful son.
A few minutes later Ricky came in feeding Emily a bottle Amy filled before she went to sleep. "Are, you almost done baby?" Ricky asked Emily softly, not wanting to wake up Amy. Emily finished the second half of her bottle and started to coo at Ricky. "I love you baby girl, so much." Ricky started again.
"It sounds like you have a new girl in your life Ricky, should I be worried about you going back to your old habits?" Amy asked softly, her eyes still closed with sleep.
"No, you'll always be my favorite girl Ames, go back to sleep." Ricky smiled at her, lying down with his daughter on his chest. "I love you," Ricky smiled as he kissed Emily and then Amy. And, even though Emily woke up at least three times during the night after that, the family was still cheerful and happy in the morning.
Fin.
A.N. O.K. I know it's short, but I think it's cute. I love the ending. Please review and read my other stories (they all have a similar theme going on…)
