'Come
along, Obi. We can't be late!' Siri Tachi's exasperated voice drifted
almost dreamily across Obi-Wan Kenobi's mind.
He stumbled again,
grinning madly. Siri looked at him and groaned, shaking her
head.
'Last time you're getting any. I'll save it for myself next
time, you clearly can't handle it,' she muttered.
He swung a hand
out to keep himself upright as the turbo lift moved speedily upward.
'Sorry. I'm trying, but it feels weird.'
'Stop grinning! You look
like a right fool.'
By the time the turbo lift had reached the
destined floor, both Jedi padawans had managed to straighten
themselves out into a respectable manner. Siri flung her hair back
out of her eyes and stepped onto the landing. For the first time ever
there were no other Jedi waiting in the room.
'Maybe we're the
only ones summoned,' she wondered out loud.
Or maybe,' Obi
frowned, 'we were all summoned for the same meeting and we are
late.'
'Don't be ridiculous.'
They hurried to the next turbo
lift that led to the council chambers and waited.
'What do they
want to speak to us about any way?' siri voiced.
'How should I
know. Quiet.'
The turbo lift doors sprang open and an elderly Jedi
stepped out.
'The council will see you now,' he announced, then
began walking in the other direction.
Siri and Obi-Wan stepped
into the turbo lift and took another moment to make themselves look
presentable.
