I opened my eyes wairily, unsure of where I was an how long I had been asleep. I blinked rapidly as my eyes reacted to the bright, whiteness of a well lit hospital room. Propping myself up I discovered a mess of dark hair leaning against the bed near my arm, the owner of said hair clinging to my hand.

I carefully pulled my hand away and sat up fully, checking under the covers before swinging my legs off of the bed and sliding down. As I got to my feet I heard the door open.

"Mr Snape, you're awake?" A nurse gasped. "So much for him keeping an eye on you, poor boy hardly gets any sleep."

"Who is he?" I asked.

"He, Mr Snape, is Harry Potter."

"What?"

"He comes every day, 6pm sharp, stays overnight and leaves around 6am."

"How long have I been here?"

"Almost 2 years."

"And he came every day?"

"From the fay he carried you throught the door demanding someone 'fix you'. That was the last time you were conscious, and he comes every day without fail."

"Who is he now?"

"Auror Potter, he's well respected, powerful, high up, pretty rich. Too thin, lonely and sleep deprived." She trailed off sadly.

"I sleep just fine, Lissa." Harry snorted as he lifted his head. "Wait who are you-" he rubbed his eyes before spotting me.

"Mr Potter."

"Professor."

"I believe I owe you my life." I whispered.

"I believe I owe you an apology."

"And I believe I am going to come back later." The nurse, Lissa, muttered as she dissappeared.

"2 years?"

"Yep." He nodded.

"Every day?" I asked still in disbelief.

"Yep."

"Birthdays?"

"Yep and Anniversairies, Christmas, Public Holidays, Yule, you name it I was still here, in this very chair by this very bed."

"What about when you had to resit your 7th year?"

"I still came. I studied here, you used to frown whenever I went to take a break. I got Outstanding in all of my NEWTs, including potions. I guess I probably owe that to you as well.

"Well done, Potter."

"Thank you Professor."

"Thank you for saving my life."

"I'm sorry for the things I called you, I didn't know. I, did you really lov-"

"Always."
