Some people, when they die, leave a hole in the world. Looking at the hole is like staring into nothing... it's not gaping or raw or black or white, it just iis/i. Everyone sees the hole but no one notices it as keenly as those who stand beside it. For them it is like standing at the end of the universe, teetering at its edge, behind them the world and ahead of them oblivion. There are times, momentary bittersweet slips of the mind, when the hole is forgotten. But those brief moments are snuffed out when, expecting to see him, Remus looks and sees a hole where a person should be. And, at that moment, he wants to fall into the hole because maybe he'll hurt less... maybe they'll be closer.
How could one person leave such a mark on the world? Just one person gone and, suddenly, the world is no longer complete, it is instead a mockery of what beauty used to be.
Remus wonders, as he toys with the silver blade, will he leave a hole in the world or will he just fade away, forgotten?
