His eyes were supposed to see everything.

That's what everyone thought. 'The Hyuuga's see everything.' And Neji, being the genius he was, should see more then most.

So why couldn't he see her heart?

He loved the way she danced with steel, the way she urged him on, the way she lived her life on her own, the way she was always there for him. it had taken him a while, but finally Neji realized he loved her. Ever since then, he had been trying to find out what she felt about him. He knew the answer was in her heart, but he didn't no where that was.

It wasn't under her clothes, protected by a fence of curving bone. He had checked. A/N: Neji, you perv!

It wasn't at her house in a box, nor in the form of a diary or some other secret. He had used his Byakugan to search the house, so he couldn't have missed anything.

He had thought it might be concealed within her weapons, considering she used them on a day to day basis. So he had checked them. Nothing. He couldn't find her heart anywhere.

It was starting to become a problem. He hadn't slept well in weeks, tossing and turning for most of the night. It was starting to become a problem on missions too. On his last mission, while using his 64 Trigrams, he had missed a tenketsu! He hadn't made such a ridiculous mistake since his academy days. Neji knew he had to deal with this problem before he started making mroe serious errors. So that was why he was here, standing on the fringes of a forest clearing, waiting for Tenten to conclude her evening workout.

Her evening workout lasted exactly 2 hours, from 5-7 PM. No, Neji wasn't a stalker. He just liked to know where his teamates were at a given time in case he needed to reach one of them. Although he had no idea what Lee's schedule was like...

He stood behind a tree. No, he was not hiding from her. The tree just happened to be between him and her line of sight. He watched as she finsihed her excersize, gracefully falling to the ground, kneeling within the mess of unraveled scrolls. She slowly started rolling up the scrolls, storing them on her back, in her pockets, her pouches, various spots on her body. It was amazing how many she had concealed on her. Neji had spent quite a bit of time recently thinking about that. That and her face, her smile, her laugh, but the scrolls were most certainly foremost.

She finished and began to exit. He took a deep breath and vanished reappearing in fornt of her. A normal person would have yelped and jumped back. She just blinked.

"Hey Neji!" Her melodic voice rang out, echoeing off the surrounding trees. Neji just stared at her. She blinked, and stared back. This lasted a few minutes.

"Neji, what are you doing?" SHe asked, not breaking her stare. he didn't reply, just stared.

"Neji-"

"Where is your heart!" Neji cut off whatever she had been about to say as he grabbed her shoulders, a frenzied look entering his colorless eyes. She blinked. Her eyes crinkled. A giggle. A chuckle. Suddenly she was laughing. Soon she was in hysterics. Neji's frantic look was replaced by one of confusion. "What?"

Tenten shook with laughter that was now silent. She wiped away a few tears as she gasped for breath.

"My...heart?" she gasped out.

"Yes! Where is it!" A sweet smile took over her face. She walked right up to Neji, keeping eye-contact with him.

"My heart, Neji-kun, is right here," she said, poking a finger into the left side of his chest. She got up on her toes to give him a quick peck on his cheek. "See you tomorrow Neji."

Tenten walked away down the path, hips swaying slightly as Neji stared after her. Of course. Why didn't I think to look there?

"Tenten, wait up!"
