Title: Plant
Characters: James Potter, Lily Evans, and Sirius Black (in passing)
Inspired by: She Always Gets What She Wants - Prime Circle
She comes around like a wildfire
And like a moth drawn to a flame
I'm on my way to being burned up again
And I've been through this before
A hundred times and more
But she keeps me coming back
What am I waiting for?
She stands across from him in Herbology, no more than vivid flickers behind the greenery. He can't help but be mesmerised by her, by how bright she is, by how she her laughter. How it dances its way all the way into his chest and makes him puff up with bravado and lean over the squirming plants, not five inches from her face.
"Hey Evans?"
"Potter."
"Is your name Daisy? 'Cause I'd like to plant you right here." He flashes a flirty grin.
"What does that even mean, Potter? And I'm named after a flower already. Merlin, you're such a twat."
"But Evans – it would ruin the whole thi – "
"Shut up, please."
"What about a Hogsmeade trip? We can – "
"You're pathetic."
He retreats, making a show of sighing with disappointment before resuming his conversation with Padfoot, all the while trying to conceal the burning hurt in his eyes.
