Shiro sat on the edge of his bed, head in hands. The flashbacks were getting worse, and this last one, well, he didn't even know if it wasn't real life anymore. Nothing made sense, not really. His heart ached with the sadness that was pulling on it, his shoulders burned with the burden of leader. He just wanted to end this goddamned war and- and… "and what Shiro?"

Startled, the man looked up, galra arm at the ready, muscles taught. Nothing.

'What are you going to do when the war ends? Go back home? To your family?'

"No no no no!" He covered his ears, this wasn't happening, he wasn't psycho.

'Oh yes this is happening shiro, after all we've been through together, don't you know whom I am?' Shiro looked up again to see- wait. A man standing- leaning on the door, clad in purple rags, and black legging like material. This man had a scar across his nose, and if it weren't for the fangs and glowing purple eyes, shiro would've known it was himself.

'So you do recognize me, how sweet. But will they recognize you?'

"What?" The black Paladin sitting on the bed stood up, eyes widening.

'Your family. They think your dead.' The man at the door chuckled, eyes Turning a white hue.

'Did you really not think this through? If they think your dead then they won't be expecting you! If you go back to them, you'll be unrecognizable! You. Are. A monster.'

"N-no." No, he wasn't a monster, they'd recognize him, they were his family...right?Shiro started to hyperventilate. Your a monster!

" no, no I'm not a- I-" he couldn't breath. He closed his eyes. This wasn't happening! But suddenly something inside the angular man snapped. Eyelids opened up to reveal bright purple eyes. Laughter bellowed throughout the room as a slight smile splayed over shiro's face. All that pain and self loathing became dark hatred, flowing through his veins. His head snapped up at attention, and just like that he marched out the door.

Lance strolled the large alien hallway, going to turn the corner to get to shiro's room when suddenly, the man of the hour walked briskly around the corner.

"Hey- you don't look so good. You okay shiraAH-" shiro grabbed lance by the throat, slamming him on the cold hard ground. Lance's eyes widened, betrayal and hurt welling up inside him.

"Sh- shiro?" He squeaked. But the scarred shell of a man couldn't focus on anything other than the scalding pain where his cybernetic arm attached to the rest of his real arm. 'They wouldn't recognize you, especially with that monstrosity you call an arm'

Lance saw the vein in evil shiro's lower jaw pop out as the man grit his teeth.

"GrrrrrraaAAHH!" his eyes blazed a deep indigo violet as the angular man threw lance to the wall, dashing away from the scene. The blue Paladin let out a sob, tears of shock streaming down his face. yeah shiro was under a lot of stress, but so we're all the other paladins! Lance felt a surge of anger as a fresh bout of tears filled his eyes, and he sputtered and coughed as he tried to get to his feet.

"shit!" He muttered. He had to warn the others, but before he could do anything a blinding flash of pain shot through the teen's back and he crumpled to the floor, gasping.

Allura, Pidge, And Hunk were all in the control room when they heard a loud crash. The princess looked to the other Paladins in annoyance as hunk and pidge both raised their hands in mock surrender.

"Wasn't us. Might have been keith and lance screwing around again" hunk stated pidge snorted.

"Screwing around." They both snickered and hunk made little kissy faces, and allura shook her head, continuing to plan out the next mission. Though a pang of worry did cling to her chest.

Shiro clumsily ran around the next corner, narrowly missing hitting the wall.

'Your just a rogue experiment, intoxicating anyone you touch. Nobody wants to clean up the mess that you are.' Black dots filled his vision as the man increased his speed.

Keith ran his hands through his sweat matted hair, man would a shower feel good after the workout he had just endured. As the raven haired teen rounded the corner and into the hallway where all the paladin's rooms were placed he herd whimpering.

"Lance? The hell are you just laying there for?" But as he got closer, keith could see lance was in no condition to get up. The Hispanic boy lay in a heap on the floor, his body in an odd position.

"No!" The darker teen screeched as the lighter of the two tried to help.

"I-" he coughed a disgruntled raspy cough, "I think it's broken." He shuttered, coughing, spitting little droplets of blood. Purple orbs met pain ridden blue in realization.

"I have to get you to the healing pods! C'mon-" Keith tried hauling Lance up over his shoulder to no prevail.

"Who did this to you?!" Anger flushed the red paladin's cheeks a bright red, but lance couldn't give up shiro.

"Nnnnggg! Stop!" An agonizing sob echoed throughout the hallway. "Just-nngg- leave me here-"

"Lance I'm not leaving you here in this condition!" Keith tried to lift lance again only to get a blood curdling scream from the other teen.

"Shit! I- I'm-"

"Warn the others Keith!" The raven haired teen stood up, hovering for a few moments. The blue Paladin writhed with audible pain, but one nod and a motion with his eyes was all it took for Keith to go barreling through out the castle, looking frantically for help.
