Hello everyone!
The One Who Summons and The One Who Gifts is my initial attempt at Naruto x DBZ X DC Comics crossover, so please go easy on me. This story is linked to another story of mine called the Justice League Xenoverse: New 52 THE MULTIVERSAL CONFLICT, but it focuses on my two OC characters from Narutoverse.
If you like harem stories, this story is half-for you, as one of my characters will have a harem, while the other will have a passionate one-on-one romance. As for which character gets the harem, I am thinking about it.
My name is Indra, son of Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki.
When I was a little boy, I was accidentally teleported into the nexus of extra-dimensional energy from another multiverse. This energy was the driving force of all change within that multiverse, and possibly others. The experience heightened my perception of reality to unseen levels. Since then, I have seen the world differently, beyond space and time.
I took the surname Uchiha to honor my mother, my uncle, my grandfather, and my grand uncle.
I took the middle name Hyuga to honor my grandmother and her family.
I am Indra Hyuga Uchiha, and I am the One who Summons.
My name is Ashura, son of Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki.
Unlike my brother, I was sent to a multiverse where dragons were real, and mortals surpassed gods. I unlocked my own ki and combined it with my chakra, creating an all-new form of power, sacred and defying.
I took the surname Uzumaki as a token of respect for my father, my grandfather, and my great-great grandmother.
I took the middle name of Namikaze to honor my grandfather.
I am Ashura Namikaze Uzumaki, and I am the One who Gifts.
Flashback...
Konoha Hospital. Unknown number of years ago...
Sarada opened her eyes and stared at her two newborn babies wrapped in blue blanketsnext to her. After several hours of painful labor, she finally did gave birth to two healthy boys. As soon as her labor was complete, the entire village celebrated in joy, happy for their Hokage and her two children.
"Well done, Sarada," Sarada looked and saw her mother and doctor, Sakura Uchiha. Her mother had helped her throughout the entire labor and cleaned her babies after they were born. "I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks, mama," Sarada whispered as she pushed herself up with her mother's help. Her mother helped her lift her babies in each arm. "They are so beautiful..."
"They sure are," Sakura spoke, small tears forming around her eyes. There was a knock on the door as two men entered. One was a tall middle aged man with jet black hair covering his left eye. The other was much younger, with blond hair, blue eyes filled with excitement, and whisker like marks on his face.
"Let me see, let me see!" Boruto ran next to his wife, cranking his neck to see his babies' faces. "Well done, Sarada!"
"Thanks," Sarada and her husband shared a brief kiss before she turned to her father, who was giving them a small, yet warm smile. "Papa..."
"Are you well, Sarada?" Sasuke whispered, getting a small nod from his daughter. The Uchiha was finally a grandfather after nine long months. The nine longest months of his life after Sarada's birth.
"Sasuke-kun." Sakura walked to her husband, putting her head on his shoulder. Her husband tilted his head against his wife's affectionately, enjoying the lovable moment in front of them.
"Where is Kamui?" Sarada asked, not seeing her younger brother anywhere.
Suddenly, a 10-year old boy with dark raven hair and dark eyes next to Sasuke. "Here!"
"Kamui, what did I say about appearing out of nowhere?" Sakura scolded her youngest child.
"Sorry, mama," Kamui muttered. He quickly ran to see his nephews in the bundle. "They are so small."
"They were just born, silly!" Sarada tapped her brother's forehead, making him pout slightly. That earned a small smile from Sasuke, who remembered that gesture when he was young.
Then there was a crash outside, which made the Uchihas in the room sigh.
"Here he comes..." Boruto muttered as a middle-age, blond man followed by his dark haired wife and adult daughter entered the room.
"Sorry we are late!" Naruto spoke. "I came here as quickly as I could!"
"Not so loud!" Sarada whispered harshly at her father-in-law. "The babies are sleeping!"
"Sorry," Naruto muttered. Hinata walked next to Sarada's other side and looked at her new grandchildren.
"They are so cute, Sarada. Your mother and I always knew that you and Boruto would make cute children." Hinata took on of her grandchildren and cooed as Sakura took the other.
"Two at once! An overachiever as always, isn't she, Sasuke?" Naruto put his arm around his best friend's shoulder. The said best friend only smiled as their wives cooed at the sleeping babies.
"Mama?" Kamui asked as he pulled on his mother's dress. "What are their names?"
Sakura looked at her daughter and son-in-law, who looked at each other.
"We honestly never picked yet," Boruto scratched his blond head. "I thought we would get an inspiration after the children were born. But now that they are here..." The two of them looked at each other and shrugged.
Sasuke and Naruto, however, knew the perfect names for their grandchildren. They each walked up to their wives holding their grandchildren.
"This one will be Ashura," Naruto spoke, poking his grandson's cheek.
"And this one will be Indra," Sasuke said next.
"Indra and Ashura..." Kamui whispered and exclaimed. "They fit!" He clapped and cheered around the room.
"They do," Sarada raised her eyebrow. "But where did you get the names?"
"Yeah, I'm curious too." Boruto crossed his arms. "Don't get me wrong, they are great names. But it's strange that you two just knew them like that."
Naruto smiled as he took a seat next to Sarada while Sasuke leaned against the door.
"Well, we got it from history. Let me tell you of your ancestors, Kaguya the Bunny goddess, the World Tree, and the origins of shinobi." Naruto started a long story of Kaguya's arrival on Earth, the birth of Hamura and Hagoromo Otsutsuki, ninshuu, Indra and Ashura, and the long chain of hatred that Naruto and Sasuke broke right after the Fourth Shinobi War.
"That's where we got the names from," Naruto explained. "The two brothers who were once linked by fraternal bonds of hate...whose ancestors reconciled and reunited as a family..." Naruto nudged Sasuke's arm. "I think the names are quite fitting, don't you agree?" Sasuke nodded.
The grandmothers returned the babies to their mother, who held them tightly against her chest. "Yes. In fact, there are no better names for our twins."
"Indra and Ashura...welcome to our family." She whispered, and both of her babies opened their eyes for the first time.
Konoha 8 years later...
8-year old Indra and Ashura looked at the Konoha Mural, where names of heroes were listed. Behind them was their 18 year-old uncle Kamui, who served as their sensei and guardian.
Indra, much like his namesake, had great ocular prowess and near-unrivaled talent. He mastered every technique taught to him and understood every concept and theory, even developing his own. He was also unnaturally talented in using lightning manipulation, able to use it in both big and small scales.
Ashura was much slower in terms of learning, but his chakra was massive, easily matching his grandfather's and Kuramas. In fact, it was overly huge that Naruto had to put seals on his body so that his chakra would not suffocate those around him. It was as if Ashura was naturally gifted in using nature energy; his body naturally absorbed nature energy and mixed it perfectly with his own.
The two grandfathers knew that it would only be a matter of time before their children made an impact on the Shinobi World. Already the village knew of the children's prowess, calling them the next Naruto and Sasuke. But the veteran shinobi pair didn't want such things for their grandchildren. They were already targeted enough by being related to two of the most powerful shinobi in the world; they didn't need to put oil on fire.
Twins were a bit too much to be trained in a normal shinobi academy; they needed a specialized teacher to teach them both techniques and nurture their inner discipline and strength.
That is one of the reasons that they had Kamui as their teacher. Kamui was perhaps the only one in this generation who could handle and restrain the twins. A prodigy in every sense of the word, Kamui reminded his father of Itachi. Holding an air of maturity and inner strength beyond his years and the ability to see truths beyond truths, it was as if Kamui had the innate ability to see through every lie. It was because of this ability that the twins were always quiet and respectful to Kamui.
Despite the peaceful era created by Naruto and other Kage, there were shadowy elements who constantly pushed the world to the brink of devastation. The Ootsutsuki. The Kara. Kawaki. And they all hunted Indra and Ashura for their ambitions, only to be foiled by Kamui, whose unique abilities surpassed even his father's or uncle's.
"Uncle Kamui?" Ashura asked, looking back. "Will we have our names on this mural one day?"
Kamui smiled sadly. "I hope not. To have your name on this mural, you must die...and I don't want either of you to die..."
The eight-year-old brown haired boy grabbed Kamui's hand. "Then how do we become heroes?"
"He doesn't want us to be heroes, Ashura," Indra spoke, turning to his brother and uncle. "Heroes...are too limited, aren't they, Uncle."
"As astute as ever, Indra." Kamui nodded. "Heroes only remain heroes as long as long others see them as such. They are too dependent on their public image. And heroes are limited by their interpretation of justice."
"Then what do you want us to be, Uncle?" Ashura asked, and Kamui knelt down in front of them so that they were eye-to-eye. Kamui's eyes turned from black to blood-red. His pupils were not normal Sharingan, but a pinwheel shaped like six-bladed shuriken with flaming blades.
"I want you two to be free of fate."
"Fate?" Indra looked confused at his uncle, with one head tilted to the side in confusion. "Why, uncle?"
"Because Fate has dire plans for you. And I won't let it harm you." Kamui spoke with determination. He then straightened up. "But that's enough for now. Time for your training!"
The two boys jumped and followed their sensei to their training fields outside the village. Along the way, they were greeted by the villagers and adoring fans. Ashura waved back at them while Indra stayed close to their uncle.
"Do you think they really like us?" Indra asked Kamui who looked down at his nephew.
"I suppose they adore you more or less. Are you wary of their attentions?" Kamui asked softly.
Indra saw his brother waving back at the villagers. "If Ashura and I were anything but us, would they still like us? What do you think?"
"I think you already know the answer to that question." Kamui spoke. "Some people are just drawn to those they think have power. That has been the case for as long as life has existed. Whether it's money, attractiveness, or fighting prowess, that depends on the time and place."
Noticing Indra's brooding, Kamui continued. "People are just inconsistent that way."
"Why?" Indra asked.
"I don't know, Indra. But remember. Despite our powers and abilities, we are still human, not gods. We have our own flaws and inconsistencies. We can either embrace them and those of others or isolate ourselves and be lonely forever." Kamui answered.
"I don't want to be alone...but I can't ignore other people's lies." Indra whispered.
"Embracing and ignoring are two separate things. Embracing requires empathy and acknowledgement while ignoring is rejection. Never ignore other people's flaws because then you are just lying to yourself and them."
"How do I embrace such flaws, uncle?" Indra looked up at his uncle with inquisitive eyes.
"That's something I'm still learning to do..." Kamui saw Ashura cheerfully walking in front of them. "When you see Ashura, what do you see?"
Indra saw his cheerful brother waving at everybody. "He isn't naive. He is aware of others like me...but he accepts everybody..."
"Something that neither you nor I can do so freely," Kamui smiled. "Not that Ashura's acceptance is perfect, but he gives everybody a chance. He opens up and makes himself vulnerable, yes. But he accepts that. Can you?"
Indra was silent.
Later in an underground lab...
Orochimaru sat in front of Kamui, with an amused smile on his face.
"Another dimension? You want to send your nephews to an alternate dimension?" The Sannin asked his acquaintance, who nodded. "Why?"
Kamui crossed his arms. "I know what my nephews are capable of, and I know what this world is capable of teaching. It's not enough. If they remain here as shinobi, they will be limited by the shinobi way, much as their grandfathers. I don't want that kind of fate for Indra and Ashura. They are capable of becoming so much more than shinobi."
"You want them to be gods?" Orochimaru grinned.
"Gods are overrated," Kamui spoke, with his Sharingan flashing. "I want them to surpass everything, including gods."
This is the prologue. Hope you like it!
