We're just going to say that Tex is human in this one, same with the last one. Btw, I am going to completely bash Church in this, but I'll make up for it in another fanfiction. I will warn you now that there is some decently heavy violent scenes in this. Sorry I couldn't work on this earlier! This wasn't working on Saturday! Hope you enjoy :o)!
It was a normal day at Blood Gulch, at least what can be considered normal for the Reds and Blues. Church was inside the base, preventing Caboose from destroying just about everything in there. Tucker was outside the base patrolling alone. The Reds were bickering and doing whatever else it is that they do over there. And Tex, well, she was on top of Blue base, relaxing and staring at the clouds, and the azure sky. Hard to believe I know, but she just needed a break from it all, and this seemed like a fitting way to do so. Tex smiled, it was such a perfect day, and none of those idiots could ruin it. Abruptly, the scene around her began to change, she wasn't in the canyon that she was so used to anymore. She was in a bare field. Disoriented, she rose, gripping her rifle tightly, and scanned the area around her. Her vision blurred, her stomach recoiled, and her head started to throb something horrible. Tex dropped her rifle and fell to the ground, she was in agony, but for some reason, she couldn't scream. A hazy figure took up her view, they wore military clothing, and she recognized their voice.
"Allison?" She was suddenly aboard the Mother of Invention, the Director stood in front of her.
"Allison, are you alright? Allison? Allison?!" She was in the training room, Carolina was on the floor screaming in agony. The rest of the freelancers were above her on a balcony with a glass window, sharing the same fate as Carolina. Tex's head pulsated with vivid thoughts. She collapsed into a whirlpool of darkness. When she awoke, she was in the canyon again, but her whole body was in excruciating pain, as well as her head. She couldn't bear it anymore, she wailed out of pure torment, her screams piercing the silence of the canyon. Her whole body shook, quivering in what could only be described as pure torture. Tears fell down her face, she grabbed at her helmet, wanting to tear it off her head, but she couldn't let her teammates see her crying when they reached her.
Finally, he was alone. Church was inside of Blue base tending to Caboose. The Reds were doing the same thing they always did. And Tex was laying on top of Blue Base looking up at the sky. He cracked a smile, he had never seen her like that before, and he doubted that he would ever again. He continued his circle around the canyon, passing by the back of Red Base and rounding his way back to Blue Base. But something stopped him dead in his tracks, a scream, a hellish scream. His eyes flickered over to Blue Base, Tex was bent over, screaming her head off, and clutching her helmet. He sprinted as fast as he could towards Blue Base, tearing at the ground beneath his feet. Church rushed out with Caboose on his heels. When he finally arrived at the scene, Tex had stopped screaming and was out cold. Church was shaking her body to no avail.
"Tex!" He whimpered, a lump evident in his throat.
"What the fuck happened?!" Tucker said frantically.
"I don't fucking know! I just heard her scream and came out to help, but then she up and passed out!" Tucker bolted inside to get a med kit just in case anything was seriously wrong. He threw things over, not caring where they landed, until he finally found it in the laundry room. When he came outside, Tex was still unconscious but twitched her limbs a little. He put a hand under her helmet to check for a pulse, but Church slapped his hand away.
"What the hell do you think you're doing man?!"
"I'm trying to check for a goddamn pulse, chill the fuck out!"
"Fine! But don't try anything else or I will fucking murder you! I'm gonna go call Doc!" Church yelled.
"Go ahead!" Tucker spat. Tucker gently stuck a hand under her helmet and held two fingers against her neck. He felt the vein contract. He breathed a sigh of relief and was able to concentrate. Church came back in a huff.
"Doc says that he's not coming!"
"It doesn't matter, Tex is breathing, she's fine."
"The fuck she is! Did you not hear her screaming before?! She was in a hell of a lot of pain!"
"She probably remembered some sort of bad memory or some shit like that! She will be fine Church calm down!"
"Just help me carry her into her room."
"Alright. Lift her legs, I'll lift her chest." Church glared at him through his helmet.
"Relax Church," Tucker said smoothly. Church mumbled something that he couldn't hear, but Tucker didn't really give a shit anyways, he was more concerned about Tex's wellbeing than being able to sleep with her. They carried her into her bedroom and lowered her tenderly down onto her bed.
"Go take Caboose out on patrol, I'll stay here with Tex until she wakes up."
"Okay, but come find me when she does, alright Church?"
"Fine."
Tucker begrudgingly asked Caboose to come along with him on patrol. They walked around the canyon until they came to Red Base, where Grif and Simmons shouted at them to come down. Tucker helped Caboose down and then jumped off to the ground below.
"What do you guys want?" Tucker groaned.
"Hey up yours blue! We just want to know what the hell is going on!" Grif griped.
"What? You mean the screaming?"
"No dibshit, I'm talking about something else, of course I'm talking about the screaming!"
"Fuck off, I was just wondering. It was Tex, I think she remembered some sort of bad memory or had a vision or something like that."
"She's not gonna come kick our asses because of it right?" Simmons stepped in.
"Nah, she's passed out in her room with Church."
"Okay, good. Well, you better get out of here or Sarge will shoot us for 'conversing with the enemy' or some shit like that."
"Maybe I'll stay here then," Tucker said with a grin. Grif flicked him off and Simmons cocked his gun.
"Alright fine you big babies." Tucker grouched. They climbed back up onto the pathway around the canyon and headed back after completing the circle. It was night at that time.
"Hey Caboose." Caboose looked over at him.
"Go to sleep, I'm going to stay out here for a little while."
"Okay, but don't let the monsters eat you."
"I won't Caboose, goodnight." Caboose galloped over to his bunk. Tucker rolled his eyes. He clambered on top of Blue Base. There were no clouds, no rain, no lightning, nothing to make his view stray from the beautiful starry night. He could've sworn that he could see planet Earth out there. Now he knew why Tex was out here in the first place, it was gorgeous out there. After a while though, his eyelids began to droop, and he knew that he needed to go to sleep. He was still worried about Tex though, so he went inside and cautiously opened her door. Church was slumped over on her futon, so he decided to take her other sofa. But before he laid down upon it, he saw that Tex wasn't under her covers. So he lifted her up, drew back the duvet, and placed her on her bed, covering her gently with the thick blanket. He then settled down into her spare couch.
When Tex woke up, she was no longer on top of Blue Base, she was in her bed. Her duvet wrapped lightly around her body. She was amused when her eyes found Church slumped over on her futon. But was confused to see Tucker laying on her other sofa. She didn't think that he'd care enough to watch over her. Although, it did warm her heart a little to see that Church wasn't the only who cared about her. She laid blankets softly on the two soldiers and crept silently out the door. She knew that they must've been there for hours, so she decided to do something nice for the whole team. Bake them cookies. After about prepping and cooking them, she set them out on the nicest plate that they had. She left a note by it and then headed back out on top of the base. Just as she felt happiness spread throughout her mind, the Reds pulled up in a Warthog.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me." Tex groaned.
"Hey Tex! Come down!" Simmons cupped his hands over his helmet. She swiftly dropped down from the base to talk with them.
"What?" Tex clenched her fists.
"Woah there little lady, we don't mean any harm. We just wanted to see how you were doing." Tex was baffled.
"And to see if you're willing to kill any of your teammates for favors." 'And there it is.' Tex thought to herself.
"Sarge!" Grif hissed.
"Shut up dirtbag!"
"Not currently. But come back when I'm about to rip one of their heads off and maybe we can make a deal."
"Sounds good."A ripple of kindness shattered her gruff demeanor.
"Thanks for stopping by you guys." She turned her back to them and pulled herself back on top of Blue Base. The Reds looked bewilderedly at each other, then got back into their warthog and sped off. Leaving Tex alone with her thoughts. She decided to go train. She slipped inside of the base and took a punching bag with her. She set out to the cave cut into one of the corners of the canyon. After arriving, she looped the string of the bag around a hole in the cave and a stalactite. After taking a lot of force from the punching bag, the stalactite started to crumble and came crashing down. Tex dove aside and kicked it further into the cave, it's sound echoing throughout it as it crashed against the floor and the walls. After she was satisfied with her training, she decided that she should go shower off and eat. She sauntered into the base and was heading towards her room when two arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her against their body.
"Fuck off Church, I don't have time for your antics." Anger began to boil up inside of her.
"Oh, but you do, you have all the time in the world for someone like me." Church grinned slyly, as he started to pull her into his bedroom.
"Get the fuck off of me you asshole!" His grip tightened around her, and his hands began to move up towards her chest.
"C'mon Tex." He purred. She blushed fiercely under her helmet, but stood her ground, shaking him off of her. She started to briskly walk away, but he once again clung onto her, not willing to let go. She could feel his hot breath waft onto the back of her neck. Fear gripped her stomach, and her heart sounded in her ear. She went to elbow him in the groin, but he grabbed her arm and started to drag her off. Church was happy that for once he would be the one who was dominant, and not her. But just as he had thought that he had won, Tucker rounded the corner of the base and saw the scene at hand.
It wasn't Tucker's whole body that woke him up, it was his nose. A delectable smell drifted into Tex's room from the kitchen. Someone was cooking, nobody ever cooked anything fresh, it was either microwave or rehydratable food. Tucker bolted upright, knocking off the blanket that was placed delicately around him. He grinned like a madman. He rushed into the kitchen to see a large plate of cookies sitting on the counter, with a note placed right beside it. He picked up the note gingerly, trying his best not to wrinkle it.
"Good morning assholes, as thanks for taking care of me, I made cookies, don't think that this will become a regular thing, I just wanted to.. show my appreciation for yesterday. Make sure that Caboose doesn't eat them all, I want you guys to share them, unless Church is being a dick. In which case, Tucker you can take them all for yourself. ~Tex."
Tucker's whole body lit up with a sense of euphoria, he just loved how Tex had shown her feminine side for once. He stood for a second, looking off into the distance dreamily. But as Church started to stir, he grabbed a cookie and scrambled outside, he wasn't about to be caught standing around for fear of being put on watch again. He wanted to go find Tex, but settled instead on cleaning up his room. An odd thing to do I know, but it was a complete pigsty, and it needed to be taken care of sometime or another. So after Church was done meandering around inside the base, he went down to his room to clean it. About two hours later, when Tucker was deep into cleaning, shouts sounded throughout the base. He knew that he shouldn't intrude, but he skulked over behind a corner, listening to the two quarrel. But this argument was different, a lot different. Tex sounded slightly fearful, and Church was very smug and overbearing. Way more than usual. He knew that was a bad sign.
"Get the fuck off of me you asshole!" Tex cried out. At this point, he had to step in, he couldn't take the thought of Tex being treated badly. But he couldn't just walk in there like he heard everything that just happened, which he had. So he walked in casually and acted shocked when he saw the scene unfold before him. `
"You heard her, get off." Tucker said sternly. Church shoved open his door and threw Tex inside, shutting it harshly and locking it as he did. Tucker rushed over to the door but Church blocked it.
"Listen man, I've got a good thing going on here, and you're not going to fuck it up."
"A good thing? You do realize that Tex didn't want to go in there with you right?"
"Of course she did, she wanted me."
Tucker sneered at Church, both disgusted and amused at the same time by his egotism. Tucker came up closer to Church so that they were face to face.
"Touch her, and you're dead." He hissed through clenched teeth.
"The fuck you are, she's my girlfriend, I can do whatever I like with her."
Church forcefully chucked Tex into his room, hurling the door closed behind him. Tucker started to spar with Church again, more aggressively this time. A pang of guilt seized her stomach, she had never really been that nice to him, and she fucking regretted that. Especially now. The fear from before left her body, and she became enraged. She propelled herself against the door, denting it severely. The two outside the door stopped arguing. She did this several times only to leave large depressions in it, not actually breaking it down. Frustrated, she took a couple steps backwards, and then flew at the door full force, putting her left foot out just before hitting it. Pain shot up throughout her left leg. She vociferated in agony. Frantically, she stumbled backwards, tripping over something and falling onto a glass object. It shattered under her weight. She shrieked in anguish. Church and Tucker pounded and kicked at the door. They were also yelling wildly, but she couldn't understand them, she was in too much pain. Her vision grew hazy, her heart started to palpitate, and beads of sweat began to gather all over her body. She shifted a little, but twisted in excruciation when glass pierced further into her skin. She cried out louder, not bothering to hold it in anymore. She could hear Church and Tucker bash at the door, so she steeled herself, and stood up. She tried to ignore the pain, but it took the best of her. She fell over onto a cabinet, the impact of her body on it causing it to wobble for a second. Tex's eyes grew wide with terror, she used what little energy she had left to hold up her arms as Church's heavy armoire toppled over on top of her. Spilling its contents all over her armored body. Her wails of torment grew to be no more than whimpers as she lay in a pool of her own blood.
Tucker shoved Church against the wall, holding his fist above Church's face in an attempt to intimidate him. It didn't work. Church just shook him off and took out his pistol.
"Don't you fucking dare," Tucker said through gritted teeth, chucking his hands up in the air.
"Back off man, and stay away from my girl," Church growled. A large thud resonated throughout the base. Tucker looked over to Church's door. A large dent practically punctured the door.
"Need I tell you that 'your girl,' is currently breaking down a steel door just to kick your ass," Tucker said smugly. Church lowered his pistol and pocketed it clumsily.
"I'm starting to have second thoughts about this whole thing."
"Before or after you shoved Tex into your room?" Church looked over at him as to glare with his helmet.
"Fuck off Tucker," Church growled. Both men kept their eyes locked on the door, watching as a new cavity appeared in the door every five seconds. They stood like that for a while, just gaping at the sight. Until, they heard Tex cry out, followed by various loud noises. Adrenaline built up in Tucker's body as he and Church sped over to the door.
"TEX!" Tucker screamed. Church as well. They started to beat on the door, doing little to help. Fear clouded Tucker's mind, he couldn't think, he couldn't breathe, he couldn't do anything. A thought flickered through his mind quickly. He removed his sword from its place on the side of his thigh. Activating it, he swung it at the metal object, cutting it open with ease, like scissors through paper. As they entered the room, Church flicked on the lights hastily, Tucker reeled back in horror at the sight of Tex. She was collapsed under a large piece of furniture, laying in a pool of her own blood, glass sticking into her armor. Various items lay strewn across the floor, Tucker just stepped carelessly around them as he made his way to Tex. He lifted her body up with much care, trying his best not to hurt her any more than possible. Church had already run into the medical room of the base, preparing the space for use. Tucker rushed into the Medical room, with a critically injured Tex in his arms. The glass from her torso cut into his arms, but he didn't even seem to notice. He laid her down gently on a table as Church came up to the two and began to pull the glass out of her limp body. Tucker kneeled down onto the floor so that he was level with her face.
He wasn't even sure that she was awake, or even if she could hear him. But he whispered something in her ear, "You're going to be okay Tex. You're going to be okay. I won't ever let Church touch you again." He was trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince her of this. But either way, he felt like he needed to say that. He reached a hand into her helmet and ran his hands through her hair. He had longed to do that. Church looked over at him quickly but mainly stuck to the task at hand. She weakly twitched her hand, motioning for him to hold it, and lifted her head up slightly. He grasped her hand lightly, and she relaxed her head back down onto the table. Tucker fixed his gaze upon the floor, resting the top edge of his helmet on the table that Tex was being patched up on. Tucker stayed like this until Tex was actually healing. He stayed in that room for days on end, under Church's watching eye. After about 4 days, Tex began to wake up. Tucker noticed this and immediately ran to get Church, who had stepped out of the room for some air. When the two came back, Tex had already gotten out of her 'bed,' she was facing away from them, obviously thinking deeply about something.
"Tex, are you okay?" Church broke the silence. She turned to look at him, but didn't say anything. She just pivoted back to her position from before. Tucker looked over at Church as to tell him to keep his distance. Church stepped out of the room with his head hung low, he felt like shit for what he did. Tucker walked cautiously into the room, there was no telling what she would do. But as he came up to her, she pivoted around quickly and drew him into a tight hug. He was caught completely off-guard, but he wrapped his arms firmly around her. Neither of them wanted to pull away, but Tex started to list a little. So Tucker drew her up into his arms and carried her down to her room at the end of the hall. He laid her gently down on her bed, and began to walk away. But Tex grabbed his arm, so he stopped.
"Please, stay here Tucker." Her voice wavered as she said this. She patted a spot beside her on her bed. He stood contemplating this for a moment, within seconds though, he decided to stay. He climbed over her and wrapped his arms around her as he got settled. He was careful to put his hands where it didn't hurt her. She turned Tucker and herself so that she could lay her head on top of his chest. Drowsily, she reached over to her nightstand a couple of feet away and pulled out a blanket. She situated it on top of them.
"I love you Tex." Tucker bit his lip as he said this, almost immediately regretting it. Wanting to rest her voice, she pressed herself closer to him and nuzzled his chest. He completely relaxed into her grip, glad that the feeling was neutral. They cuddled like that for a couple of minutes until both of them fell asleep. Warm, loved, and without a care in the world.
I think I overdid it with the whole almost killing Tex thing XD. I'm sorry this didn't come out earlier, I didn't have anytime this week or last Saturday. Also, sorry that the writing quality just like completely drops dead at the end. I only finished writing this at 10:45 P.M. and I got 4 hours of sleep last night sooooooooooo. Hope you enjoyed! I'll continue this tomorrow if I can. Bye!
