"So Seth, exactly, how did you manage to get a motorbike throttle in your arm?" Asked Carlisle, using a pair of tweezers to pick out tiny pieces of rust from around the wound.

"Sam wanted me to test drive his bike before he rode it. And the front wheel spun out of control. Landing me in a ditch."

Edward chuckled a little.

"Come on. Are you done, Carlisle?"

"Yes. It doesn't need stitches. It'll heal fairly quickly."

They all piled in the car, driving until Seth got hungry.

"Can we get some food? I'm starving."

"Sure." Said Carlisle, pulling over at a small cafè.

As Seth entered the room, he spotted a beautiful girl serving behind the counter, making a coffee tor someone, wearing trendy, baggy, yet lovely jeans and a nice black t-shirt. You could tell she was pretty, even from the back.

Creamy complexion. High cheekbones. Sharp jaw. And helping an old couple with their coffee's. What more could a man want, he thought dreamily.

Another two young women were sitting beside a window, dressed exceptionally well, reading books and chatting. One brunette, one blonde, with dark, honey eyes. And... pale, too. He thought for a moment they might be vampires, but brushed the idea aside.

The blonde stared back at him, frowning a little, then looking back at the brunette.

The girl behind the counter looked back around at Seth.

And that's how it happened.

That's how Seth imprinted.

He read her name tag, which read "Victoria".

"Um... sir? Can I help you?" She asked kindly, walking up to him with a small notepad and pen.

"Err... I'll have a flat white, no sugar, one equal, please."

"Please, take a seat, and it'll be with you shortly." She smiled.

"Excuse me?" The brunette sitting next to the window said.

She ordered a straight black coffee, and Seth shuddered. Black coffee was is bitter, he didn't let know how she handled it.

Edward laughed from inside the car.

But the blonde one ordered skinny cappuccino, one splenda, extra hot.

Fussy much? Seth thought, and Edward chuckled again.

"I'll have a lattè, a cappuccino, a flat white, and an espresso, please." Said Carlisle, handing the girl -Victoria- twenty dollars, and accidentally brushing her hand. Seth growled, and nudged Carlisle completely on purpose.

Carlisle calmly sidestepped so Seth could get through, and he brushed his shoulder again.

But Carlisle, -being Carlisle-, just stayed calm, and went to sit by the two girls, intrigued by the titles of their books. The brunette cocked her head at him, and gestured to the rest of the group waiting outside.

They were speaking so low, so fast, that you could barely see their lips moving, and hearing them as a human was an impossible task.

But Seth managed to catch a few sentences.

"Why don't you come? We have spare seats."

"We'd love to, right, Mack?"

"Of course." The girl said happily, "We're free this weekend, right Z?"

"Yes. I'm certain so." She Said, and smiled a little at the old fashioned words.

Z? Mack? Why do they sound so familiar? Do I know them? Victoria thought. Wait, could they be... Mack and Zahra? No, that's impossible. I met them years ago, they left. They haven't changed. Should I go say hi? What do you say to someone you haven't seen in four years? Wow... Mack is so much more... wow.

"We were actually travelling up north for the hunting range there, so we have clothes." The brunette said, "We found your way of life very..." she looked at the blonde, "Peculiar." She finally smiled.
