AN: I own nothing accept for Racheal (teacher) and Millie (Elizabeth's daughter). I know I should finish my other story, but this is stuck in my head. I don't know where I am going with this or how long I will drag it out. Please enjoy :).
I had a bad feeling about today. I knew that something was wrong, so my mother me go to a high school and talk to them instead of riding along with her. I had gotten threw four classes and was starting to relax when I heard the announcement.
"Lockdown! Lockdown! This is not a drill! This is not a dri-"
As soon as the line went dead the teacher and I got all of the kids underneath tables and as hidden as we could. Racheal and I went to crouch behind a wall next to the door so we could protect the kids. Racheal Montgomery has always been a close friend of mine. We grew up together.
"What are you doing?"
"Crouching next to you."
"You know what I meant. If you get hurt your mother will raise hell on Earth."
"It's going to be okay. I promise."
"You can't know that it will be okay."
"I know one thing. I never break my promises."
I could tell she was scared; I was scared too, but I would never let it show. I was finally starting to calm down some when we heard the door handle jiggle. We both covered our mouths for fear of making a noise. We were so frightened that we were shaking against each other. All we could do was pray that the door wouldn't open and we would be all okay.
I was almost ready to jump out of my skin when the jiggling stopped. The door knob had gone still and everything was quiet. Racheal had stopped shaking and tension in the room had lifted slightly. I even released a sigh of relief with a breath I wasn't aware I was holding.
All was still. All was quiet. Then the lock clicked and the door opened with a creak.
