Hello! This is my first story… well, complete one. Hope you enjoy! :)

Constructive criticism is appreciated.

O! How I lust for thee-

Thy eyes are equal in complexion to an ocean;

Dark, mysterious-

yet when just skimming the surface,

one finds child-like insecurities dwelling in them.

O! How my heart yearns to hear the sound of your voice-

Manly, unlike my comrades;

Little immature kids compared to your vast knowledge of the world and how it works-

And when you speak?

Thy deep baritone that rivals silk in its smoothness outwits those of my kind.

O! Your hair falls graciously in black locks-

silky, not unlike your voice;

my peers are once more baffled by my interest,

and their eyes are clouded with confusion:

But I?

I see the real you;

the one with the haunted past and the torment-filled years.

the one with the hollowed scars that run deep within your body and soul.

the one with the power to torture, maim, disfigure: all for the greater good.

And yet,

the one who who wears the mask all day and bears the brunt of their harsh accusations.

the one who risks his life day in and day out for the next generation.

the one who loves with all his heart.

That is what I see.

That is why I care.

That is whom I love.
