Sometimes
Rating: M16 for coarse language
Summary: 200 word drabble. Dorcas Meadows/Gideon Prewett. Rated for language. Sometimes Gideon doesn't even know what he thinks anymore. An insight to his relationship with Dorcas.
--------------------------------------------------
Sometimes Gideon doesn't even know how or why the arguments start. Words are exchanged like Frog Cards and then Dorcas uncharacteristically flies off the handle just as she is now. She's a blur of black clothing and foul language wrapped in the scent of marijuana and her hands cut through the air feverishly. Gideon is confused as to what happened but he can't get a word in edgewise. Sometimes he feels flattered that Dorcas only ever yells at him, sometimes he resents it. He doesn't know where he stands on the issue now and Dorcas is shuffling her feet in impatience.
Like a bolt from the blue she grabs the front of his shirt and kisses him angrily with chapped lips. Gideon has no time to react and can only stare as she pushes him away and stomps off angrily, still swearing, before turning around.
"You'll never get someone like me again, Red!" she yells. "Just fucking remember that!" He knows those words well. They've ended every argument they've had for the past year. Dorcas resumes her stomping and disappears from sight, still hurling obscenities.
Sometimes Gideon wonders why he even puts up with her. Then he wonders who wouldn't.

Author's Notes: A quick drabble that I decided would be my first foray into fanfiction. It celebrates one of my favourite (and obscure) pairings. I'm open to constructive criticism and any commentary regarding it. grin
