I don't even know where this came from. Probably from the depths of me; the memories I wish to forget.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

NO POV

She tugs on her shirt sleeve,
covering the scars she's afraid to show.
Does he even realized how he hurt her?
Does he even give a damn?

She doesn't think so
as she steps into the world.
She shies away from the people passing by.
He's made me scared to even step outside.

She knew he was trouble,
but that was his appeal.
She knew cutting shouldn't be an option,
but it was her only escape.

It was her escape from herself,
and the haunting memory he left with her.
She remembered as he muttered:
"I'll love you forever."

It was such bullshit.
And, she fell for it…
every last word he said.
Now, she'll pay for it.

She learned to love the pain.
The pain that left her scarred.
The pain that he caused.
The pain that no one can fix.

She sees him crossing the street.
The scars start to burn and sting.
It's the added pain in her heart
that she yearns to feel.

She doesn't care if she's masochistic.
She just wants to keep her secret,
and handle the suffering on her own.
She was never one to be open with emotions.

He tried to catch her glance,
as he crossed Broadway.
His heart hurt from thinking about her.
But, he was never one to be open with his emotions.

She was caught up in a whirlwind of lust.
All that died out far too soon.
She knew he could never love her,
but she kept that glimmering sliver of hope.

He just wanted someone to fool around with.
Someone with no strings attached.
He choose her for that job.
And, she completely fell for him.

He did his best to keep her happy,
while maintaining his growing urge.
She fell further into love for him.
As he got himself a whore.

She was too naïve to realize what was happening.
He was too experienced to let her know.
Both had different objectives.
Both reacted to the breakup differently.

She cut her wrists until her mind was numb.
He went around finding another slut.
In the end, they both knew that
they needed each other to live.

Wow. I really liked that, but as I was writing it, I couldn't figure which couple would fit for it. I mean, I was thinking Caitlyn as the girl and Shane as the guy, but I couldn't picture them together. Oh well. Any couple thoughts from any of you lovely reviews?
PS. Those of you reading Here We Go Again, the next chapter will be posted tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. It's a Naitlyn, in case anyone is interested. But, I'm done plugging.
