Matt called the police to report that two of their paramedics were missing. With everything that had happened with Mills on their last call he had no doubt who had taken them. But Joe could not stand still he had started pacing back and forth in front of the ambulance that had been left abandoned. They were told to wait there for the police to show up but he wanted to be out there looking for her...for them.
The man who they suspected took them was not a good guy and God knew what he had planned for the two of them. Everything had been going great for him lately, he was ecstatic that she had even agreed to go out with him and now this. No, he had to find her. Sure he hadn't known her that long but already he knew he was in danger of falling for her and if anyone did anything to hurt her...
Finally two cop cars pulled up to the scene and he stopped pacing as they approached them. They had their team search for anything that might have been left behind or clues as to where they were taken. Since there we no doubt as to who took them they also planned to look for any known associates. "Look I know your worried about your friends but there's nothing else you can do here, so why don't you head back to the station. We'll call if we find anything." Ruzek told them once they had cleared the scene.
But Joe hated the thought of sitting around and doing nothing while they were out there. He knew they would put Mills and Brett as their top priority right now but he couldn't help but worry. Since no one at the station knew they were dating he had to play it cool, for her sake. They had talked about it and decided not to tell anyone yet since everything was still relatively new.
All they found at the scene besides the abandoned ambulance, was a stretcher and the charm from a bracelet. A small silver letter S, he knew belonged to her since she had told him her mother bought it for her when she turned sixteen. It must have fallen off in the struggle, unless she left it for him on purpose. They took it in as evidence so he couldn't even hold onto it for her and make sure she got it back. It was all he would allow himself to think of, that she would return to him, that she would be alright.
Peter groaned as he opened his eyes. The last thing he remembered was helping the man in that alley before someone hit him over the head and then everything went black. He tried to reach up and touch his head where it throbbed but he realized his arm was tied to something. It was dark wherever they had taken him, 'And Brett where was she, was she alright.' he thought as he looked around. He could barely see in front of him but there was a little light coming from a window high up on the wall. "Brett? Brett can you hear me?" he called out as he tried to shift his body. He was sitting in a chair and along with his hands his feet were tied.
"Mills? Where are we?" she said from behind him.
"I don't know. Are your hands tied too?" he asked.
"Yes, my feet too."
"Did they hurt you?" he asked as he tried to loosen the rope on his hands.
"They hit me over the head and when I woke up the one guy was staring at me."
"We have to get out of here before they come back."
