Still Lost and unFound

Standing in the hallway with the bright light at the end, yes, I remember. This was the exact hallway where Hinata left us, with someone else I am told. I do not want to walk down it because I do not want to ever stand in the light again.

I remember the day when my maid came through my door, finding it hard to say the words, clasped my hand and looked deeply into my eyes. "Hinata" escaped her lips. Immediately I knew that something was wrong with her. My heart gave a jolt as I realized she had escaped.

I knew her parents did not treat her as they did in public. They neither loved her nor spoke to her. At home they would beat her until there were bruises, matching the colour of her hair. In public they smiled and congratulated her, if they weren't elsewhere expanding their houses or gaining more wealth.

Even after she left us her parents merely raised an eyebrow and continued to work. They dismissed it as a grand holiday trip, in a place that they all did not know. Upon asking them if they had any contact with her they replied "Of course we do, she contacts her little sister with an internet game called 'Silkroads'."

The same day I signed up and saw what type of game it was. There was no way her little sister, a baby of no more than three, be able to contact her. Her little sister didn't even know her own username or password. I sighed in frustration.

I wanted to know more about where she was, I wanted to find out whether she was even alive. I went to her sister the only words she could say were sounds that did not spell a word. Soon she started to cry. I was hustled out by her mother who whispered in my ear. "You are no longer a welcomed visitor."

I decided to go to the Uchiha police force to ask for information on her. The police were ignorant. They continued to be useless. The two men always just laughed, looking at the time to see whether their shift had been finished. The only thing they said was that could only tell us whether she was out of the country but they couldn't find out whether she was alive or not. So I went home, disappointed and I accepted the truth. She was never to be found.

Now I look at the hallway where she left. I hear a slight pitter patter. My heart jumps a little as it sounds like her steps. I run out and fling open the door. It is raining, the endless droplets pour out of the sky fuelled by the grey clouds. The mud is sloppy and all that is left is a ghost, of what use to be…
