A/N: Another C/O fic attempt from me. Using one of the last prompts from the in_the_after- fic battle-man in uniform. This is sort of a third-person insight into Cristina Yang and her relationship with Owen. Again, reviews are more welcome. Hope everyone enjoys it.

One could say that Cristina Yang's life was measured in instances and moments. Usually Cristina would internally cringe at a thought like that. She was all too familiar with the life-changing instances, her father dying, the ectopic pregnancy and the entire Burke situation-hand and wedding. While the Burke situation had changed her for the better in some ways. It seemed like more often that not, the life-changing instances seemed to bring pain to her life, along with a long recovery.

When she first saw Major Owen Hunt with that hot pen trach, she didn't really regard the moment as life-changing. He was just a badass army surgeon, albeit sexy man in uniform. Yet, something was happening, and it felt good for the first time in recent memory.

Another moments, the icicle was lodging itself in her chest, another moment filled with pain. What had happened to the possible happy moment with Hunt? Then Hunt's face appeared above her,

"Damsel in distress"

Another happy moment, he's picking her up in his arms. Were things changing again for Cristina Yang?

"I didn't give you permission to do that."

"So?"

Another moment, and life was truly changing for Cristina Yang. Did the future hold the possibility of happier moments to outweigh the moments of pain in her life? Was there something more in store for her with Owen Hunt?

Karev (Evil Spawn), the name written for the solo surgery. Another moment filled with pain. Would it eve stop?

"Not here"

"Anything came happen on the vent."

Another happy moment became minutes this as she kissed Hunt. Maybe minutes could be hours and longer with him. Moments and more were happiest when she was with him.

"You should wear your hair up more, it shows off the back of your neck, I like the back of your neck."

There were no longer instances and moments with Owen Hunt, it was long hours and days, full of happiness. Could years be in the future?

"I want to be around forty years from now."

"I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened!"

"Look at me, I'm fine."

The moments were back, filled with pain. What had happened to the happy hours and days? The promise of years?

"Can I-can I hold you?"

She walked into Owen's arms, the feeling of a happy moment tingling in her stomach. Moments became kisses, sighs, caresses, gazes of love. Something good was happening again, and she didn't ever want to let it go. She would fight to keep this moment.

"I'm so sorry. I can't handle this after all. I'm afraid to fall asleep"

Another moment, but different. This was bittersweet, life was changing again for Cristina Yang. There would still be moments, but now moments of healing, becoming whole.

There will be moments of happiness again with Owen, she knew.
