Prologue

"But what if-"

"Nothing will go wrong. I took every precaution. The gateway is ready."

"I don't know. I just have this bad feeling."

The hallway was huge, so big that it would take a lifetime to explore every room it branched out into. But the door was even more impressive. Although it had no color and was completely black, it seemed to emit a light brighter than the sun.

"Here we are. It is your choice. Open the door and fulfill the prophecy, or turn around and leave."

The man considered for a second, and then he opened the door.

The other masked figure laughed.

"Ciao!"

Chapter 1

Ugh… where am I? I looked around as I blinked sleepily. Oh yeah. I've got to stop doing that! I was lying down near an oak tree with a bird's nest in its branches. Wait a minute… something seems different here… I stood up. Yeah, something's definitely wrong here. Where I was, well, I wasn't quite sure anymore. Finally, I realized what was strange. The trees… they're completely the wrong color! Then, the world around me started to swirl and mix until it was just a solid mass of color.

I woke up in my bed, wondering what had just happened, until I realized that it was a dream. I opened up the door to my room and walked downstairs. I rubbed my eyes and wondered why I had gone to bed at 1:00 A.M. when I knew that I was always extremely tired in the morning when I didn't get enough sleep. And since I normally get up at around 6:00, it was an especially bad idea. But I did it anyway. Deciding not to focus on that, I sat down on the couch and started to watch TV. Within a few minutes, I had fallen asleep again. When I woke up, I just sighed and wondered why this always happens to me.

"Yep, this definitely looks familiar." I said to myself. I decided to actually explore this time instead of just going back to sleep. I threw open the doors to my room, not even bothering to try and stay quiet. I kept on walking straight, eventually reaching an excessively long hallway. I kept on walking down to the end of it, and when I reached it I found a door that seemed not to be light or dark, but a mixture of the two. I placed my hand on the doorknob, and I was about to open it when I heard voices. I darted into the nearest room, left the door open a crack to see, and started listening to what the person (who wasn't really a person) was saying. "Here we are. It is your choice." I didn't listen to the rest because I saw who was talking. It couldn't be... My train of thought was interrupted when the other man flung the door open and the other figure laughed. "Ciao!" he yelled, and he kept on laughing as he walked back down the hallway.

Okay guys; don't worry if this seems a little hard to follow at the beginning. It gets better in the later chapters. Until then, just don't stop reading because of that.
